Well, that's kind of what you have to do if you want to be a P6 coach. Go make 300K coaching a mid-major taking a paycut. BK seems very comfortable being an assistant coach and doesn't seem to have ambition to move up the ladder.

The fun thing about these NCAAT upsets is that they inspire SMF to post yet another treatise on the coaching carousel. Some of them don't even reference Sean Miller.

Yes. He is basically the de facto head coach at Rutgers. He will most likely be named coach in waiting at some point. He’s qualified to be the head guy at St Peter’s.

As Joe pointed out, of the great qualities of a head coach is identifying talented coaches, let them feel like they have a voice in the program, get out of their way to fill in your gaps and prepare them for when they have their own program.

Pikiell checks all of those boxes and has said on many occasions BK is another head coach on the bench.

Coach K probably isn’t looking to the bench much - but he’s been pretty transparent about how much he learned from other coaches on USA basketball

The goalposts shift so often with the Dixon haters. He took this program to unprecedented heights but should’ve been allowed to tank the program (if he would’ve). 4 20 win seasons in 6 years (with a 25 game schedule one year) has never happened at TCU. He’s a top level coach

People that understand the game of basketball scoffed at Pitt for not appreciating Dixon. We had a good coach and the people calling the shots screwed up a good situation. Pitt should have been providing him more $ for assistants and upgraded the facilities. There is no doubt he would have turned it around here.
