The quote from Sheldon Jeter in today's PG says a lot. "It's not like we're taking bad shots----these are just clean misses, good looks, we are just missing them. Maybe we need to get into the gym and work on that." I realize that college life is more than just basketball, but if players truly have the initiative to improve and take pride in getting their team to the next level, then maybe they should be in the gym before/after practices or on their off days shooting. The last 3 games the Panthers have lost could have been wins with SLIGHTLY better shooting. Huggins referred to two of his shooting guards putting extra time in and its no surprise to him that they're shooting better. He only wished the rest of the team would follow suit. Life lesson to Panthers; You only get out what you put in.

I wouldn't pay attention to anything kids say to the media.

No , I do understand .. And it's stupid to say stuff like that no matter what sport or whichever player

Yeah, I guess at some level it is. But I just can't get too worked up over what any player says in situations like that. They are required to say something when they'd almost certainly rather not have to, so they say whatever comes to their minds with little thought about any sort of deep meaning that anyone may ascribe to the comments, because they aren't putting any real thought into them in the first place.

That's the dirty little secret of post game athlete interviews. It is rare, extremely rare, for any of them to ever say anything that is truly meaningful.
