I hope he does have some type of degree or training so he can make a living. He's not going to do that in football.
Shell became a Drama Queen before he committed to Pitt, then again as he got upset with Chryst Discipline, took off to UCLA and quit on them, then went to WVU and still making Whine-Lines Head-Lines?

No need to make him out to be this bad person. He's actually the more typical person, most hot shot high school stud football players never make the NFL. Whether it's lack of talent or lack of effort or lack of desire, it's the norm, the exception is the guy that makes it.
And yeah, he thought he was better than he was, and that's part of his downfall. On the other hand, he might of stayed at Pitt and started for 4 years and still not make the NFL. In the long run, it was a lucky break that he left, or we might be talking about James Connor signed by the Steelers as an undrafted free agent DE.

Plenty of people like that often fail to make the NFL. Go get lists of 5 star recruits and all time high school leading rushers and most you never heard of.
Browne actually has NFL physical skills. Whether he has the other intangibles is another story, but he certainly has the talent.
Still, so far it hasn't translated to college on field success, that's my only point.
how nice is it for the Lackawanna QB this upcoming fall. He's got P5 bookends blocking for him. isn't this the same school that has the RB Shaw, from Woody High too? I may be wrong about that one.

At the risk of giving the perception of piling-on, I have to agree. For a player to get cut this early, I'd guess one of three things must have happened: (1) he has a lingering injury that the Steelers don't want to deal with; (2) he showed nothing worthwhile in workouts; or (3) he wasn't even showing-up for workouts.

I couldn't really care less about Shell personally. But fact is, he trashed Pitt and put the program in a bind at the time. Fortunately Conner emerged from it but that's besides the point. The point was Shell was a total a-hole toward Pitt. Then he eventually went to play for an enemy. Those reasons alone make it delicious that he failed on the field and was disgraced publicly.
Besides what some may term the petty spite (or what'd I'd call the sweet satisfaction) from this, it should be a valuable life's lesson to any other self absorbed punk exhibiting similar garbage behavior. Don't squander your gifts. Work hard, be respectful, make intelligent decisions, show some class.

no excuses for shell, he just wasn't good enough and padded his high school stats by getting almost 40 carries a game
