I’m speaking more to the $15-20M buyout AND the fact that it’s HER mistake. Plus the Stallings thing was kinda shady how she used silly violations as a bargaining chip.., you can’t do that multiple times or else no coach would ever wanna come here
Come on, one poster tried to make it about the speaking around thing. Nobody else. IMO, he’s way off base, wouldn’t factor into the decision at all.

I don’t agree with this at all. This is a business. If you have something to negotiate down, use it. Everyone thought no one would take ETSU after they fired Shay for agreeing with the kids kneeling for the anthem. Guess what, they hired a black coach. These coaches don’t care. They want their pay day. No one gives a shit about Capel, Dixon, Stallings etc.

I was never "on board" or "not on board." What I might have said 10 days ago was that I didn't think things were so bad that I thought Heather Lyke would be on Board. And with that being the case, I didn't really have an opinion per se.
Ten days ago, I don't think anyone was very optimistic about Capel. I know I wasn't. But complaining that he needs to go just isn't my thing, even if I had little or not confidence he would ever get it done. That's your thing and that's fine for you. For me, I figured I would be here through next year, so might as well make the best of it, if that's even possible.
But over the last week, thing have moved pretty much into different territory. Let's see what happens Friday. The results will speak for themselves, much more than anything you or I can say.
Capel will not get another verbal from a kid ranked any higher than 250 this class. He is gone. Nobody is coming here. Mintz and his family aren't idiots. They know he is gone and are looking elsewhere.
I am man enough to say that I was wrong on this. The reason I said it was because guys de-committing from their verbal in college basketball rarely ever happens. However, O should have known that hardly ever is commonplace for Pitt and if something has a chance to happen, it will happen here.
