7-5. Our offense sucks; our defense is very good; and I see it as a Georgia Tech win and six tossups remaining (although there's a chance Virginia Tech completely implodes by the time we play them). I would have said 8-4 before yesterday, but our offense has clearly not turned a corner since dropping 28 on UCF.
Why such a definite?
The offense has improved each week. The yards gained hasn't translated into the points you would expect yet.
Assuming Pitt is on the other side of the most difficult part of their schedule- I don't see a reason for the pessimism.
Duke is going to be a difficult game. If Pitt wins they go 8-4. A loss will likely mean 7-5.
We're 3-2 with two of those wins being over Ohio and Delaware. You're calling my prediction for us to go 4-3 down the stretch pessimistic?
Agree gt should be a win they are probably worse than Delaware or Ohio. I also think the other six are pretty much toss ups. If I was to guess I think we probably go 3-3 in the other 6 which would put us at 7-5. I could see another win or another loss.7-5. Sorry, the ACC Coastal is not worse than either PAC12 division by a “longshot”.Pretty much the same as I said before the season. Somewhere between 6-6 and 8-4. Thought 8 wins might be out the window after the Virginia loss, but the UCF win put that back in the picture.
The Coastal is still the worst P5 conference (by a longshot), Pitt could conceivably win all these games, probably will lose at least 2 though.
Saying that the offense suck- is what im referring to. It's improved each week that Pickett played.
I'm very comfortable saying our offense sucks right now. Will it get better? One can only hope. But it really sucks right now. We're averaging 17.8 points per game. You can't say everything is good except for the fact that we can't score, because that is ultimately all that matters.
Our defense is conceding 19.6 points per game, and everyone (myself included) is praising the hell out of it.
. But I did leave the door open we could beat them.
It's also putting up more yards each week. The points should follow but like you noted- it's lagging right now. Eventually the points should match the yards.
My heart has us at 8-4. But my mind has us at 7-5 or even 6-6.
We definitely beat Georgia Tech, Boston College and Syracuse. I think (although would love to be wrong) we definitely lose to Duke. That leaves UNC, Va Tech and Miami as toss ups.

ACC is definitely way down, but the PAC12 South may be even worse than the Coastal.PAC12 is definitely improved this year, so far I see no evidence that the ACC is at all.
6-6 (which is where I started the season). Losses to Duke, Syracuse, Miami, and North Carolina.7-5.
ACC is definitely way down, but the PAC12 South may be even worse than the Coastal.
It's certainly debatable that they might be better...I just don't see how you can say it's 'miles' ahead of the Coastal. The division's only win of merit OOC is against Michigan State, the rest are against the other mediocre PAC12 division.I disagree with you on that, at least from what I see so far this year.

I think Nebraska stinks. Cal and Washington are both in the North division, however.Until last nights debacle one could say Colorado’s comeback win over Nebraska was pretty solid. It’s within the conference, but Cal’s win at Washington was a stunner and qualifies as a big win in my book. Even though Ole Miss is down it’s still impressive for a middling team like Cal to go into SEC country and win that game.
I’ve always assumed Justin Wilcox was an average coach at best, especially with some of the dumb decisions he makes in games, but I may have to re-evaluate my opinion of him. He has that program trending in the right direction.
