Skip Bayless

Where I think he messed up was the timing. I don't think he actually meant what a lot of people think he meant; they just like to have a villain they can lash out at in times like these. But the timing wasn't good. It was too soon to mention football like that.

Bayless doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt, but I don't think his tweet meant harm. He just worded it very poorly. He's said far worse in his life.

Like with Mark Madden and their ilk… we’re talking about him here (and elsewhere) for the crap he says. So he “wins”. Fire him? He’ll get a bigger deal at the competitor.

Just like clicks on this board. The more outrageous, the more replies, the more ad dollars.

What did he say?
No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game - but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome ... which suddenly seems so irrelevant.

End it in a tie they won’t want to play each other anytime soon, whoever it screws oh well , this is a life and Steelers should have lost 1 less game insert any other team

Well the NFL absolutely does need to address this game being played somehow, don't they? It's not offensive to just ask the question? I'm actually sick of reasonable questions becoming somehow offensive?

I’m sure they’ll find the time to address it

There's not much time to "address it", these teams are supposed to play again Sunday I believe. We all feel bad for Hamlin and his family, but the world can't just stop, life goes on.

they need to play within 48 hours or push the playoffs and super bowl back a week. or not play it at all, which would be drastic on many levels. sure as heck dont see the bengals ownership re-imbursing all the fans for the tickets either..

some espn people saying that they dont expect the bills players to even play next week. what in the hell?

I'm super proud to be a BOOMER, the level of sensitivity currently is WAY TOO MUCH, we all feel badly about what happened, but you don't stop living, you don't just quit your job, sorry, but people need to return to sucking it up and moving on, bring back some stiff upper lip and the Toxic Masculinity we all grew up with.

it's the bills players choice to sit out next week but they get the loss / forfeit, ownership reimburses the league for attendance costs, lost revenue in tv commercials and any other fine under contractual obligations. maybe the nfl waves that, as is their right..

but they take the loss on the forfeit as the league goes on without a doubt. but it's a moot point, they are playing next weekend and they'll find a way to re-schedule this game as well.

Even saying the things we're saying, even talking about this topic today is deemed offensive and insensitive to the family. Life doesn't go on anymore

That's what I would do. Both these teams are in anyway. If this affects seeding, oh well.

The refund part is always tricky with so many tickets being purchased second-hand.

Didn't the Covid year prove that none of this scheduling stuff is as gargantuan of an issue as we thought?

That being said, not one thing that he said was offensive, not one thing. Only pussified morons that have a desperate desire to be offended are offended by it. They'll get over themselves until such time as they fabricate something else to be offended by.

As suggested , end the game in a tie and move on . If the rest of the league has a problem it's on there conscience ....
I would suggest resuming the game TOMORROW, and whoever doesn't want to play, forfeits a game check. Life goes on, I've seen a couple people die at work from cardiac arrest, the place didn't just shut down as everyone ran to the grief counselor. Not the same as a football game, but so what. Do what they would have done in 1980, things where way better back then.

I'll bet you were a blast at the New Year's Eve party ... Sheesh ..

I am, surely way more fun than you! :) Tell me, how does that opinion correlate as to whether or not I am fun at a party? It doesn't.

actually giving them both a tie would benefit most teams in the afc playoff race and the only ones that would havce an issue with it would be the bills and to a much lesser extent, the bengals.

a tie now means that the chiefs only need a win against a bad raiders team (with a backup QB) for home field thru the playoffs. i think the bills would be the ones that it hurts the most.

actually he would be because he's gonna be celebrating regardless lol. dude could drop dead at the new year's eve party and while everyone is grieving and in shock, he'd be stepping over the body to fill up his beer.

Hey, THE TRUTH IS, someone has been dropping dead somewhere during every party you've ever been to.

Now they have announced that this game will not be played this week. But no word on if or when? Then they said the Week 18 schedule has no changes and will go on as is. Why would that even be a question? Do some over sensitive people want to disband the sport now? LOL :)

Not true. The Steelers needed the bills to win to play their starters next week to beat the Pats now they won’t play their starters if it is a tie, which hinders Steelers chances , but oh well who cares , move on as a tie

Doubleheader!

Someone is collapsing of cardiac arrest somewhere right now, as we speak, and maybe it's even caused by their job, but nobody will care because it didn't happen on TV.

hmm, didnt think about this. yeah, that sucks. we need josh allen to play next week. If they lose and the bengals win, can the bengals jump them for 2nd seed?

Who gets that tie breaker between bills and bengals? Im assuming best conference record?
