Anybody else hearing this? Apparently ND flew out to visit him?
Slovis has never really played behind a good line, at least since high school. Those USC o lines got their QBs injured every year, and wasted incredibly talented WRs. He probably will look good at ND though. With a good line and good WRs, he can be good. But so would a lot of QBs. He throws a decent ball but if he doesn't get through his progressions. If he has a primary WR who is always open, he wont need to. Going from Pitt to ND, playing largely the same ACC schedule, I think he'd do well.
Exactly what I was thinking. Please let it be so. With our pass rush and his lack of elusiveness, we’ll kill him next year in south bend
He was never the #1 QB in the portal, mostly between 5-10 depending on who did the rating.Lol. Good luck. Slovis went from bring the #1 QB in the portal to probably not even in the top 10. Couldn;t ND do better?
Have you seen Notre Dame's quarterbacks the last 20 years??I don't get this. The dude literally couldn't throw 1 good deep ball all season. He was an under throwing machine. How would ND want him. I don't see it. 10 TDs with 9 INTs. What on film do you see that's like... Yes, that's our guy!
That's simply not true. I remember perfect deep balls to Bub Means and Jared Wayne. His problem here was getting through his reads quick enoughI don't get this. Not one more day. They are an average football team barely anything more. All they have is the name.I probably need a new thread, but given the state of religion in this country and the loss of true "ethnicity" of the europeans in the last generation, how much longer must the football world endure Notre Dame as prima donna?
Saw a post today about QB’s in the portal. They had Slovis #10..Phil not mentioned

i thought Ty Willingham was a good hire at the time, it had nothing to do with race, but he did a good job at Stanford and was/is a stand up guy, but it didn't work out that well.First step was hiring a 30 something black guy
Ultimately, it's not about race. It's all about W's. You win enough games and you're golden, regardless of whether you're black, white, or green. Lose a bunch and you're out.i thought Ty Willingham was a good hire at the time, it had nothing to do with race, but he did a good job at Stanford and was/is a stand up guy, but it didn't work out that well.
I don't remember a single perfect ball. The Mean attempt against WVU I remember and Means had to break his route and the ball was ina position coming directly over his head and in went of his fingers on bothe hands. It would have been a Fitz esque catch. That one was hardly a perfect ball. I do remember Wayne catching a couple deep on slants, he had to slow down to catch them letting the db catch-up and tackle him on the spot. His typically underthrown deep ball. That's simply not true. I actually think Slovis played behind a pretty good line this season. He was only sacked 18 times in 2022. That’s not a crazy number. Pitt’s defense had something like 45 sacks this season. While they might not have been ND’s typical line, they weren’t really bad at all. Of those 18 sacks the Pitt QB’s took, how many were because they took to long to go through their progressions. How many times did Slovis run backwards instead of just throwing it away. Some sacks are on the QB. The only game I know Slovis was lit up because of missed assignments/blitzes was the Tennessee game.Slovis has never really played behind a good line, at least since high school. I get it. You don't like Slovis. You're just wrong about not throwing any nice deep balls.I don't remember a single perfect ball. Pitt will have trouble recruiting top offensive skill position talent as long as Cignetti and his little GA assistant hang around this program. Players and prospects are in constant communication with each other. The word is out on Cignetti.Anybody else hearing this? Apparently ND flew out to visit him?
Let’s not avoid the obvious elephant in the room by making preemptive excuses like ND supposedly having better OL and WR talent (BTW they had what is for them a historically weak WR room this past season). If he goes to ND and he and the team have an excellent season, and the Jurk comes to Pitt and he and the team struggle or have a lackluster year (like, let’s say, 10 passing TDs), that kind of says everything you need to know about the Pitt OC.Slovis has never really played behind a good line, at least since high school. Those USC o lines got their QBs injured every year, and wasted incredibly talented WRs. He probably will look good at ND though.
Ian Book was 30-5 as a starter including 15-0 at home. 72 TD to 20 INT. Definitely not a big pro QB type though.Have you seen Notre Dame's quarterbacks the last 20 years??
When in the last 20 years has Pitt ever signed what was viewed as top offensive skill position talent? Shady McCoy/Jonathan Baldwin maybe?Pitt will have trouble recruiting top offensive skill position talent as long as Cignetti and his little GA assistant hang around this program. We will keep losing offensive skill until Narduzzi gets the gonads to fix his hiring mistake.
Yeah, he can zip an intermediate pass, butbwas like a mortor set in sand on deep throws.I don't remember a single perfect ball. It wasn't good at all the first month, but actually did improve a good bit as the season processed, and honestly as injuries forced changes at C and OT.18 sacks with a statue who held the ball too long.
There were games where he wasn't touched and others where he might have been hit once or twice. After the first few games, the OL played very well.
People like to sensationalize OL woes like the other team isn't trying to get after the QB too. No team is immune to pressure, no matter how good their OL is
Scott Barnes strikes again!I read where Notre Dame, UCLA, and BYU all flew out to meet him. I think there is mutual interest in Oregon State as well.
