Soccer-who’s your team?

I’m assuming you were talking about John Terry and he thought you were referencing Lampard?
He said Lampard is a meathead and probably a racist. I’m the one who said Terry was a meathead.

That’s how I read it as well, thinking he wrote Lampard by mistake.

Obviously Terry has that issue dogging him from his past, but I loved him as a player. He was a tough bastard on the pitch.

sorry. i had a brainfart. i've got no beef with lampard. i think he got everything through hard work.

yes, terry is the meathead (or probably worse).

Ok. Fair enough. I was surprised when you said Lampard. Not so surprised by the Terry accusation. I just don’t know if Terry is coaching material. He’s had some questionable things in his background with character, etc. His Dad lacked character. I’m a chelsea guy and can acknowledge that. Is he a racist? I don’t know. Only he does. But I’ve been called racially sensitive things on the field of play by black people. It doesn’t make them racist. And I know Terry’s countless black and African teammates like Drogba and Cole love him and don’t think is. That’s good enough for me.

yeah like i said - the chelsea fans' questionable hx doesn't help the situation.

Yeah you like saying that, as evidenced by the countless times you stated it on this board. Your anti Chelsea agenda is getting a bit old. Racist fans are prevalent in Europe. Every club has skeletons in their fanbase. The countless black Chelsea players that John Terry played alongside, there were 12 on that 2012 champions league winner, were abused in every stadium they played in.

i don't think i'm communicating correctly. i'm not here to be a chelsea hater or whatever you're perceiving. i DO not like john terry but i don't know him personally so whatever.

i don't have an anti-chelsea bias, although i have a bias against big soccer clubs in general. i actually am rooting for them against the other big clubs b/c of pulisic.

as you say i'm sure most clubs have skeletons in their closet but chelsea fans have actually got the club in trouble in recent history.

here's my favorite chelsea fan video. not that this couldn't be a fan from just about any club in england. i just find it funny as i can't stand drunk annyoing fans.

If the Riverhounds could win their way to MLS, I would automatically become a big fan.
Why can't you be a fan now? It's just an entertainment thing. It's probably better quality players than most college soccer. And it's a night out, tickets probably aren't real expensive.

There’s a niche for it. The Riverhounds stadium is nice and the product can be attractive for some who like minor league sports. I do think pitt soccer beats them though in friendlies. But those are friendlies so…
