Man it felt good to have SOME sort of sports related event that wasn't a replay. Here are some thoughts:
- Really happy for Dane Jackson. I don't know what kind of defense the Bills run but he is going to have success in a man/press scheme.
- I forget how many years in a row it's been that Pitt has had someone drafted but the streak continues!
- I guess we now know why we didn't give Kenny Robinson a look. When he was drafted, they mentioned he was involved in a massive academic fraud case at WVU. Good sense not to touch this kid. That's not a moment of stupidity, it's a pattern.
- I still cannot believe DiNucci got drafted. His one year as a starter at Pit he threw 5 TDs and 5 picks in 10 games. Now, a first look at his numbers from his senior year tell a different story with 29 TDs, 6 picks, and 70 % completion but there are some caveats here. The 29 TDs were in SIXTEEN games so it's still less than 2 per game at the FCS level. His arm didn't strike me as a P5 arm. I'm sure he got stronger but this is incredibly perplexing.
- The Narduzzi factor - I'm not sure if it's an indictment or impressive but what Narduzzi has basically done with only 2 draft picks over the last two years is...I think I settled on impressive. Now, assuming we have a season, the pressure will be one. He's going to have at least 4 draft picks on this defense. It's time to translate stockpiling that talent into 9 or more wins.
