hoping not to lose any of the new recruits and some seem to think keeping Knight would be key in that.If say they could lure Howland back they most likely would be able to retain Knight as an assistant.Or you would think.Just a thought...Would Howland even be realistic at this point?

I'm all for Howland if a couple guys turn the job down. I don't think he'd leave MSU after one season with his recruiting class coming in, but I guess you kick the tires though Barnes won't.

I hate to be brutally honest, but this recruiting class is not worth worrying about retaining . No way.

Well since the majority of the board thinks JD was a lousy recruiter, why would retaining lousy recruits be leverage for anything?

Really? A pretty good point guard, an athletic shooting guard who Oregon offered and a post man who had a strong senior season. I sure hope these three stay on board.
You probably would like to keep them, so you have a class, but you don't make a hire with any consideration for keeping them.

Pitt doesn't need to hire a well known coach, there are plenty of young guys out there just waiting for their opportunity to prove themselves. Go after them.

Howland wouldn't come back here even if Pitt wanted him, though.

Howland definitely would come back. In fact, he would advise MSU team, officials and fans that he is staying at MSU right before he gets on a plane to accept the Pitt job.

Because the majority of the board are idiots. Nothing to do with coaches, but these guys are not as bad as some say.
