On Flo Wrestling rankings. Mick stays at 5. Taleb is 16. Nino huge jump to 6 from 14. Stout makes first appearance in rankings at 18. Interestingly Meech dropped from 13 to 14 despite his big win at N.C. st. I think Meech is someone who can make waves at nationals. Seven of top ten Hwt from Big Ten. Meech gave Derek White good match and he should have beat Daniel of N.C. whose at 13 this week. He must have had a big couple week as he is in top twenty for first time this season.

It's used as part of the criteria for the NCAA Tournament and this year they are ranking all 33 wrestlers in each weight class so some of the lower rankings will be more important

They are used to determine the number of automatic qualifiers each conference are allocated and will have some impact on seeding. The RPI is strictly a mathematical formula - your Winning percentage x your Opponents Winning percentage x your Opponents Opponents Winning percentage.

I will add that you need 17 matches to get an RPI ranking so that is why Micic and DeSanto are not ranked but Desanto will be and Micic's winning % will mean that it will have little impact on the allocation.

Also for those interested the hierarchy of importance is 1) Coaches' Poll; 2) Win Percentage; 3) RPI, the coaches poll is far and away the most important.
