Why were there groundskeepers watering the edges of the sidelines during halftime? Being in the NC we assumed it had something to do with the cheerleaders, etc., until we noticed they were doing the same thing at every other corner of Heinz Field. And they kept at it for the entire half-time - watering a rectangular patch of grass including the ACC Logo in 2 of the corners. Curious if anyone knows why.

We noticed the same thing and the only conclusion we could come up with is maybe they just put down new sod on the sidelines and they didn't want it to dry.

My gut feeling is we were trying to create humidity for Villanova to wear them down as yesterday was fairly dry but hot. Steam them slowly in second half to submit to Pitt's force with humidity.

Yeah I noticed it while the band was doing their halftime show. I had never seen that in the middle of a game before.
