Let's see what we had going tonight:

National TV Audience......check

Beatable Opponent..........check

Coming off a bit of momentum from past 2 games.......check

Home Field Advantage.......check

Badly needed recruits at the game......check

Another Shit the Bed Loss.......check

Pitt football is like watching a bad movie. No matter how many times you watch, it still turns out bad.

A few more observations:

1. To those who think our defense is not a problem I seriously want to know if you have any freakin idea what you're watching. NC had receivers who were so open that half of the posters on this board could have hit them. Their running backs gashed us when we knew they were going to run. It simply doesn't get any worse. And we've been watching this shit show for 3 years.

2. It's so damned obvious that DiNucci is never, ever going to be a decent P5 QB. At best, he might develop into a game manager. That said, this team is nowhere near good enough to win with a game manager at QB.

3. If Narduzzi doesn't play Pickett to get him some experience, then he's dumber and more stubborn then I thought. (BTW - I predict that Pickett will not see the field for the remainder of the year unless DiNucci gets hurt or we're in a complete blowout - which is likely). Narduzzi should absolutely be called on the carpet for his moronic handling of Pickett this year. And we wonder why we can't recruit a QB?

4. There is simply no way that our DB's are as bad as they looked tonight. NC had guys running completely wide open all night long with no Pitt defender within 5 -10 yards. These have to be blown coverages or a completely retarded scheme. Either way, it's on the coaches.

5. Our LB's simply suck. Once in a while someone will make a play but how many times can we watch receivers or RB's ramble right through the heart of our defense and you can't even find one of our LB's in the picture.

6. Our receivers are pretty pedestrian. Somewhat in DiNucci's defense, how many times did you see ANY Pitt receiver running wide open? Exactly zero. It puts a lot of pressure on your QB when he is constantly forced to "throw a receiver open".....DiNucci is simply nowhere near that good to pull that off.

7. If Narduzzi doesn't make some serious changes to his staff in the off season then he will be signing his own ticket out of town a few years down the road.

On the bright side, at least we won't have to endure another week of nonsensical posts talking about how we might become bowl eligible if we can only beat VaTech or Miami. This season is officially dead.

Yes it is a bad show that for some reason we keep turning into thinking it might change. Is that not the definition of Insanity?

1) I think our DBs are improving the problem is our front 7 is getting worse.

2) i do think he can become a game manager but like you said we need a playmaker right now. With all that said this loss is not on him at all.

3)Honestly if Pickett was too play it should have been the last 3 games. If they want to give him reps the next 2 games ok I am cool with that, but I don't want him getting frustrated in a no win situation just for experience sake. More about this in number 6

4) This goes back to number 1. Opposing QB has time and I think the scheme is too complicated so their are breakdowns.

5) LB play is uninspiring for sure. I hate blaming the players they are doing the best they can, but when we have 2 former walk-ons starting there are problems.

6) there is no somewhat in DiNucci defense it is defiantly in DiNucci's defense. Our WR are not getting open. Again i am sure they are doing their best, but these guys need to improve next year. Hopefully Tipton helps with this next year. This is also why I don't want Pickette in the next 2 games. It will only make him lose confidence with WR not getting open against UNC what do you think they will do against much better DBs?

7) I want staff changes starting with the O coordinator.

Yeah but the really GOOD news is that Va Tech and Miami loom on the horizon. That's TWO chances to redeem an otherwise miserable season. Gotta stay positive!!

I actually had the gall to think before the game - "hey., we finally have a winnable game on national television".

I will bet you that not only will DiNucci start the last two games, but he will be the starter to open 2018. I just have a bad feeling that Narduzzi is going to be loyal to him.

Pickett must play in these last 2 games. Open competition come Spring Ball. Bring in another QB if MacVittie has no future.
