Watched some of the USC - Cal game today and I thought to myself: What good looking classic uniforms.
It's refreshing to see that in this day of the goofy , Power Rangerish, clown uniforms put out their to serve the interest of sports apparel companies. Take a bow goofy Oregon and goofy ^ 2 Maryland.

Pitt will probably have a glow in the dark cathedral of learning on the uniforms next year and a translucent dinocat.

The cathedral incorporated would be cool. Glow in the dark is not mandatory.

Arizona State is now in the ugly class too, most likely designed by Penny Graham?

Classic...black shoes NO names
Great uni
They have that second helmet worn yesterday which is a metallic like look but other than that pretty much the same for decades.....

WE ARE.....S C
GOES back at least 50plus years too and ripped off by STATE COLLEGE

Wait.... The same people who ripped Dinocat as being too detailed and unrecognizable on a helmet now want.... The Cathedral of Learning on it?... I love the cathedral as a jersey idea but... Helmet?

You may not like flashy & I agree that a lot of them are hideous but today's hip hop generation loves them. If you're not a traditional football power who's name sells itself like USC, Texas, Alabama, etc you need to find other ways to sell your program to stud recruits & flashy uniforms are one way to do that.

Even programs that "sell themselves" go with non traditional unis... Ohio State... Michigan... Notre Dame...

It's the new reality...it's also why Penn State has the worst uniform in the history of the sport...it's horrible and unimaginative....like some garbage practice uniform from a 1966 Sears wish book....

Except those schools always have the top recruiting classes too.

The ugly truth of the matter but so many people refuse to acknowledge is that all these clownish costumes are not really geared at recruits in the so called "hip-hop generation."

That's all a bunch of horseshit.

Their primary purpose is to serve as a marketing tool geared at selling extra jerseys to gullible fans.

That is why professional organizations have gotten in on the action too. Who are they recruiting? The same people these colleges are recruiting – dumb ass fans.

Yeah .... I think the last thing that comes to mind when seeing ANY of these alternative unis is "hip hop"....? I have no clue where that comes from? I guess when teams do the all black look I'm supposed to think "Scandinavian Black Metal"....?.....it is marketing but it's also selling to recruits who like this stuff..

When I mentioned the dinocat and cathedral I was being sarcastic...the unis will probably have something ridiculously stupid on them like that.

My fav USC look is their road whites, I like the simple red shoulder stripe, with the yellow pants and red helmets, really sharp look.

But just because things are traditional, don't mean they are interesting. PSU's all whites look like a Klan rally. Alabama's uniforms suck. I actually liked Oklahoma's uniforms that they wore this week. I don't like the uniform per week approach of Oregon, Maryland, WVU, etc...

But what I hate most of all, is any uniform that contains a color that is not part of their color scheme. Oregon ( I mean University of Nike) I am really looking at you. Silver is not in Oregon's colors, neither is black.

The black uniforms tOSU wore the other week were terrible looking. I abhor the black being adopted by everyone. It's funny how when Oregon started this constant uniform change trend, it was considered fresh and cool. Now NOT doing it is becoming fresh and cool. Please, please Pitt, update it but keep it classic!!!!!

Hopefully, we'll see something like MSU's uniforms where they're modern, but remain true to tradition.

I think they have the worst uniforms because blue and white immediately makes me think of pedophiles.

Why don't they want to go back. Branding would be too expensive?

I think most Pitt fans would like to go back to the unis of the Majors I era, they were incredible and the colors were very distinctive. But I also think the university likes the current colors and that we've made too many color/uni changes over the past 40 years. What we have now is at least a decent compromise.
