First, I want to say that I like the assistants on this coaching staff. I like that they have all been head coaches at some time in their careers. I think that if you look at when things with Dixon started going sideways is when he no longer had former head coaches on his bench that he could lean on. All 3 guys on this staff have a purpose, and I get that. I just wish they were all a little bit better recruiters.

Now, that said, is there any chance that Pitt/Lyke/Capel adds to their staff after the season. I know that basketball is much more strict than football when it comes to special assistants and analyst positions that Alabama football has in an abundance, but it seems to me more and more teams have created an extra position being designated as Special Assistant to the Head Coach. This position seems to be what the Video Coordinator title used to be, which is just a title that enabled another basketball mind in the coaches meetings. The position can't be out recruiting, but it can be a networker, a recruiting coordinator type. I think this is a position that Pitt could really use. Any word on why this position wasn't filled when Capel was hired, or if there is any chance it will be created in the near future?
