My buddy challenged me to think about the roster at the end of Stallings era and compare it to what is left right now. Then figure out a current roster of Stallings era players that are still in the NCAA. He stated he would prefer the Stallings roster.
I think I would prefer the current roster but here are the numbers for the departed guys on their respective NCAA teams.
Marcus Carr - Minn - 19 pts - 3.9 rebounds - 5 assists
Parket Stewart - Indiana - 19 pts - 4.6 rebounds - 3.8 assists
Shamiel Stevenson - Nebraska - 5.6 pts - 2.5 rebounds
Kene Chukwuka - Pepperdine - 7.5 pts - 5.5 rebounds
Samson George - Central Arkansas - 4pts - 3.7 rebounds
The final players from that roster still playing include Terrell Brown, Kham Davis and Peace Ilegomah. This does not include Trey McGowens who started for Nebraska this year with 10 pts - 3.9 rebounds and 2 assists.
I hated Stallings and wanted him gone and his last season when they lost every ACC game was a dumpster fire but the kids on that team were young and some of them matured into pretty good NCAA players.
