LOL! 10%? ALL of the Pitt fans I know want to play WVU in all sports again. Would be agreat move. The insiders I know in the athletic committee are pushing for it big time! I for one, and the Pitt fans I associate with want this series back big time.

Well... judging from this thread... my 10% holds true.

I obviously know many Pitt fans too, and the only 2 that like the serious is one guy in Washington, PA that is alittle closer to WVU and one girl I know who went to grad school after Pitt to WVU. I really havent heard anyone else clammer for the series. Like I said, it is a one way street... no Pitt fans want to go down there and be mistreated.

I've been down there and never been mistreated much to be honest. I guess it depends on which circles of people you are associated with. Like I said, I have a lot of friends, family etc. a couple insiders to Pitt athletics to some degree, and not a single one was happy with not playing WVU anymore.

I actually find this message board strange, I see so many people so anti-WVU series and I don't think I've met any Pitt fan in person in real life that is opposed to it. I'm not making this up either.

WVU is scum......but for Pitt to succeed in its argument it needs to perform at a much higher level in sports.
We aren't discussing a matchup of chemistry students here. We are talking athletics and like it or not, they have done more with less than we.
There are a host of reasons for it and none of it has anything to do with the academic quality of either school.
But to be blunt, their football program has easily exceeded ours for over two decades.
I lived in WV for many years.....not only are there no pro sports teams, there are only two true universities and everyone in WV grew up listening to Jack Fleming. If you were 10 years old in 1988, then Major Harris was your hero. They have a culture of following one team and a pretty darn good history of winning.
I'm not defending WVU and I frown upon the school overall and the mentality of drinking until you are an absolute moron and causing damage to everyone and everything....
But we look a little silly if we claim we only play schools based on academic standing.

Did you tell your neighbors that you thought they where all drunken, puking, vandalizing scum bags? You act like you're somehow better and superior, yet you need to bad mouth this other group of people just because they live in a different state or went to a different school. Do you have an inferiority compex? I'm not defending WVU people at all, I just wonder why some of you feel so insecure that if you want to defend playing football vs. WVU, you feel like you have to reassure everybody how deeply you hate all the people in that state before you feel comfortable to say it.

I heard that after the incident with Herrion getting hit with the coin by his eye in 2010, we'd had about enough of playing in Morgantown. I think the new administrations on by sides want to get the game going again once we see how many years PSU wants to play.

I think this is probably closest to the truth all the way around.
