Steelers under the Tomlin/Art Rooney regime:
Franchise is run by a trio of morons. But it’s the Steeler way and they know best and everybody else that doesn’t agree is stupid because how could anybody else be as smart as the trio of morons.

The last couple drafts have been an improvement.
The qb situation is bad , and that’s on him .
He’s done okay regarding adding depth and addressing needs at reasonable prices.
We are going to need plenty of DL help , and I hope we flip watt and Minkah for picks . But I don’t think Art has the balls to let them go .
there's too many hands in the pot and Art is the biggest problem. Any GM with any idea wtf he's doing would move TJ. Are we in the business to win games or have feel good stories by giving out albatross contracts? Some stupid stat says we win when he plays and lose when he doesn't .. if you're that dependent on a friggin edge rusher you need to tear down it down. Reboot.
Not difficult to improve when you have very few players left from the three previous drafts. But there really hasn't been anyone in the 23 or 24 classes that make you think they have player evaluations figured out.
I mean -
Joey bosa wasn’t moved , Garrett wasn’t moved , it’s very likely parsons won’t be moved .
Moving watt is one thing - but the return has to be greater than his value to the team next year .
Things don’t Happen in a vacuum .

Frazier , McCormick Wilson are starter quality- so will be fauntuna
Jones , Benton,jPJ and Herbig are all good players

Art Rooney lost in the desert for 40 years. Or so it seems.
They are way too married in going hellbent to get 9-10 wins. Rinse, repeat. This is the Steelers, not the Browns or the Jags. They can afford to have a losing season or 2.
2023: First three rounds, Benton will probably be the only guy to sign a second contract with PGH. Jones lost his job and JPJ is playing like the guy that got passed over by everyone else. Darnell Washington? Come on.
2024: Two of their first three picks haven't really played yet so the jury is still out. McCormick, yes. Might actually be the best OL pick in a long time. Frazier...I don't know yet. He gets beat a lot in pass pro. Payton Wilson...don't know but so far, not bad.
One thing I'm tired of hearing is that "The Steelers owe it to Watt, Heyward, Minkah, etc. to go all in!". No one owes anyone anything other than the franchise to pay guys their game checks, and the guys to show up to play.
We fundamentally disagree on how to evaluate the success of draft picks .
Nobody is drafted as a super fire HOF player .
Hell, even when we have picks who make a pro bowl - nobody seems to think it justifies the pick (see Najee and Conner )
Jones didn’t lose his job - since we have no starting LT .
And guess why we let Moore walk ?
Cost and not much of a difference in play. It's not because Jones is going to suddenly man up on Myles Garrett and dominate.
Yessssssss Minka most overrated player in quite awhile in my opinion. Good player but not what steelers pay him. Watt still good-very good but don't pay him either. Bye bye
extending Watt at anything more than a severe hometown discount would be a grave mistake. i mean crippling mistake..
Listen, i love TJ, he is awesome. has another year or two of good play in him but we got his best years and the idea of giving him anything even close to what Garrett received is suicide.
Honestly, i wouldnt even sign him for 100m for 4 years, i think that's too much and even those numbers are way below what he is probably asking..
i think minkah is being misused with our terrible DC, austin. i think Minkah is still a very good safety but the way we use him, its just stupid. you are putting an impact player in a role that you would do to protect a below average player.
If you are going to use him like this, let him go and sign a cheaper player to do the same thing..
