Still in my seat...

I was there as well, to bad the Pitt students, Pitt Alumni, and the so called Pitt fans of Pittsburgh were not. Its a shame they all cried and said they only would go watch a winner, now we have a winner and still don't come.

We can bitch all we want about the fans, but it won't matter because it is a fix that will take decades... Starting when we move games back to Oakland.

The wife and I were there until the clock went to zero. Been a long time since we had a game where there was no drama at all in the fourth quarter.

It was chilly, but it was worth it to root on these entertaining Panthers with fellow Pitt fans.

Hail To Pitt.

25K to watch a 6-4 unranked Pitt team play Duke in 35 degree weather is pretty good I think. I was expecting worse actually.

People can complain about Pitt attendance all they want, but I just noticed that there's some empty bleacher seating at different places at the WVU game, and that's a top 25 match up.

Stayed until DiNucci took the last knee.
Grandson and I till the end. If one thinks moving games to Oakland will improve fans in the seats then I must disagree. To support my opinion I ask this question, where were the fans in the 50's, 60's, 70's 80's 90's etc.? 1982 may have been the best attendance average and that was about 53,000. Pitt Stadium capacity was 56,500.

It wasn't that cold, little wind, only a tiny bit of snow . There were about 75 students at the end. Remaining at the gun were the band and about about an equal number of fans. It is what it has been for decades.... a Pitt tradion wether Dorset, Green , Marino, Fralic, Ironhead, McCoy or Conner.

I know for myself living in Greensburg, it's an incredibly easy commute to the north shore. For a noon game in Oakland I would seriously have to leave at 7 am. There is no way to fix the traffic nightmare that is Oakland.

I absolutely loved Pitt stadium, it would be great to play on campus again. Not that I don't also love sharing a stadium with the steelers, but an on campus stadium is it's own magical thing. It's just not sensible anymore.

It's funny I actually was sitting near some kids that played at bucknell today. They thought it was the coolest thing in the world Pitt got to play at the steelers stadium. You're telling me kids in the WPIAL don't look at that and are intrigued by Pitt? A winning team, and I mean really winning... conference championships, big time home games against ranked opponents, consistently being ranked high etc. will bring fans to Heinz field, Pitt stadium, or an abandoned lot in Wilkinsburg.

Pitt can most definitely sell Heinz field to top recruits. But you're not selling anything without a good program. I think narduzzi is the man Pitt has been waiting for and when he brings us back to glory we will look back at the Heinz field complaints and say "really? Some of us actually thought the stadium was why fans didn't show up?" You gotta play big games, you gotta win big games. That's the bottom line.

You are absolutely correct, I would leave Va. stay at relatives and leave Blairsville between 8 and 9 in the AM depending upon opponent, bumper to bumper up Bates to Mckee and park at the Exxon station. Many hours of labor to go to a ball game at the stadium. I to find my travel from Greensburg to Heintz Field more disable.

Stayed til 49-14 then went to Grille 36 to have a couple, warm up and watch the end of a few good games (In-Mich, VT-ND). Would've been nice had the weather been back one day, but glad the rain moved through before kickoff.

My father and I were there until the end. It was so fun to watch Pitt score 50 points!

See you all next Saturday. Everyone should come out to give #24 a great send off. That's the least the kid deserves. He has given his absolute all.

56-14... Anyone else freezing their nuggets off with me until final second? This is beautiful.... snow is falling.
I'm not a weatherman but the forecast included 30+ mph gusts. We're in one set ( our turn in the uppers) of our seats in the upperdeck on the East side and I felt a steady wind but no "killer cold gusts."
The HS cheerleaders were freezing up there though! Not a great night for them but its November in Pittsburgh.
Great night!

I was there till the end with my boys and daughter....my wife bailed at start of 4th quarter though, and went home with my sister and her husband...sorry. We had been done there since 9:45, the wind, driving rain made it the worst tailgating conditions, well ever, I can take the cold, but cold/rain/WIND made it no fun till we moved our car to a more sheltered area out of wind... the attendants were reasonable.
