Don't live in Pittsburgh anymore, but please, post here if/when the Pittsburgh media says anything about this. Happy they lost and I hope they're talked about for this.
Sorry to disappoint, but it is on the front page of the online P-G.
Lost 77-68 and shot atrociously-- 20 for 55 (5 for 27 on 3s). UAB was 24 for 45 (6 of 12) on 3s.

Might just be a one-off bad game, however.
I’ve watched Duquesne in person and they’re just ok. They’re one of the worst 3 point shooting teams I’ve ever seen. Dambrot is a great coach, but this city game shit was just drummed up by the media to get people talking about it. And it worked. Would be cool if they got in ncaa tournament and it came back tho. Would be a great resume win for Pitt.
Let's be honest.......if Duquesne wasn't ducking us and played the City Game like they should have, they would have likely lost that game.

They are bad, and yet they are making them at a higher percentage than we are. We are one of the worst three point shooting teams in the country at 26.7%. Duquesne is "merely" bad at 31.2%. The NCAA average so far this season is 33.1%.

Duquesne has now played four teams ranked between 120 and 200 by Pomeroy, and they are 2-2 in those games. Their crappy schedule could only hide the fact that they really aren't that good for so long.
And they still haven't played their first true road game of the season yet.
They've yet to play an Atlantic 10 team. My guess is they'll win more than they
have the past few years, but still will lose several games in conference. The
A-10 although not a P-5 conference, is still a competitive league.
I don't have any animosity towards the Dukes, but they've played a crappy
pre league schedule so far. UAB and Marshall are not world beaters. The
Dukes will see that level and higher in conference.
really the worse one was Alan Saunders covering Pitt for a supposed Pitt site. He was probably the most vocal on this Duquesne nonsense (tweeting a lot of junk also) and has written similar crap in the past. How anyone can follow or worse pay for that site is hard to understand.
Yes agree. I debated him on twitter about it. Truthfully, I like Saunders but on this topic I lost respect some respect for him due to the nonsense he was spewing. He was clearly trying to stir the pot which makes no sense from a business standpoint. Do they not realize that Pitt fans probably outnumber Duquense fans by like 10 to 1.
First, uncalled for to bring up his stuttering. Be better.
Second, I think he was actually fair to Pitt regarding the whole thing outside of his post game question to Capel which Capel confirmed they talked about later. The article he wrote on the subject did not blast Pitt at all from what I recall.
Don't get me wrong, I think they are better than they have been. But people who saw 10-0 and didn't see how they got to 10-0 are probably wondering now what is going on, when what was going on was pretty clear all along.
I wonder now that their Pomeroy ranking has dropped well below Pitt if that one certain WVU fan moron will be back to tell us all that maybe Duquesne doesn't have a better program than Pitt, since it was that one data point from one season that he seemed to think was enough to make that proclamation in the first place? Probably not, since trolls don't usually admit when they are proven to be wrong.
