I was as angry as I have ever been last night at our kids. They (for the most part) are good student athletes, who obviously are reminded that we are helping fund their education. They always take the time to high five a young fan, shake a ticket holders hand, etc. I am proud of the players, and of the University for their part in molding them into fine young men.

But their effort last night disgusted me. Was it more obvious that they didn't want to play? They are student athletes, whose education is fully funded. And they should be excited to play, whether it's at Trees, ProAm, the NCAA, NIT or CBI. Some people paid $25 to watch that atrocity.

Maybe I am a little sensitive to it right now. My daughter just verbally committed this week to play D1 soccer. Full rides exist, but are not common, as rosters carry 20-25 players and fully funded programs only have 14 scholarships to give. So some players may have a full ride--but most are on partial scholarships. I will still have a small portion of my daughters education to pay. Our athletes, who we support, through our donations, should be thrilled and motivated to play---no matter who they play, where they play, and who they play in front of. Players like Cam Wright will graduate with 2 degrees or graduate degrees. I expected more--given what was provided to him.

Ok. I feel better now. It's off my chest.
