I am a daily reader but rare poster and probably should keep it that way...

After watching the ND game, how exciting it was and how good Pitt played, and realizing 59% shooting cannot be expected from any team on a regular basis, I think a little of it has to do with the fact that we played a little more uptempo, not by other teams standards but by Pitt standards. Taking good shots when they have them and not necessarily running the complete set and then looking for your shot allows the players to play, be loose and be instinctive. Jaime didn't pull players after an early shot (probably because they were going in) but that allowed them to play the game free and without the normal repercussions of not running our offense. Maybe these kids are more athletic than most of us give them credit for but we just rarely see it because of how structured Jaime seems to require them to play.

These kids are top ATHLETES playing for a highly regarded D1 program. Maybe a little more leniency from Jaime is all the tweaking necessary... yes we need better guards and sorely need a big to ever expect a deep run in the tournament but...just a thought...
