sure would like to know how Pitt's rookie qb ended up at pitt.

Well, there are handful of posters on here that have continually said "It's time to move away from these pro-style offenses , good players want up-tempo, college passing schemes , that will draw them in..." They appear to have been correct, Holstein is doing exactly what he had hoped when he spoke to Bell about what it takes in his system....TBH even when Pitt was down by 10 with 5 minutes to go, I still had hope because of that style of play, not that I was optimistic, just that I had a glimmer of hope....

It was stated that he actually recruited Pitt because he knew about Bells offense. He knew Pitt needed a Qb and he could thrive in this offense. Looks like he did his research.

Duzz hiring Bell is going to pay dividends in offensive talent. I would imaging they’ll be able to get some talented skill players this year

Supposedly Eli met former Pitt Olineman Mike McGlynn through the guy Eli was training with. Talking to McGlynn got Eli curious about Pitt so Eli checked Pitt out and hit it off with both Coach Bell and Coach Duzz.

BTW, Mike McGlynn played in the 13-9 game and he was Pitt’s Honorary Captain yesterday. It all fits.

McGlynn was drafted in the 4th round by the Eagles. He’s now a high school football coach in Florida.

Go Pitt.

Wasn't this all starting prior to Bell being hired? Wasn't there discussion on here that EH's parents were at the Pitt game in NYC last year?
I may be wrong, but I thought this was in motion prior to Bell.

Hard to imagine they attended that game and said "our son should come be a part of this offense." I'd have to think that Bell coming on board made a difference, even if the wheels were already in motion.

No doubt Bell influenced this. Just saying someone prior to that had identified his skill set and potential availability. Or the other possibility is that Duzz already had Bell lined up before firing Cig.

No, this started before Bell was hired; that is incorrect. His father was in attendance at the Pitt vs Syracuse game. The family friend he trained with knew Mike McGlynn, who was the connection and suggested Pitt. Eli's family began to research Pitt well before the 2023 season ended.

If playing a TE at QB worked for Syracuse, why not Pitt?

Just kidding Wolf. But you put that one on a tee. Somebody was going to be a smart ass and respond with that eventually.

This is the reason I don’t think he will be going anywhere. He landed in a great spot, which a lot of transfers don’t.
