Looking ahead, it sure would make for a great game if we get PSU in next round. They are playing really well right now and would make for a tough out.
Might just have to make a road trip if that game happens. This Pitt team is capable of beating anyone if their shots are dropping. Let’s keep it going

It’s gonna get a lot tougher starting tomorrow with Xavier. Pitt is going to have to start shooting the ball much better starting with the Xavier game. I hope they keep playing D the way they have been but they are gonna have to limit these spurts where they go cold shooting and are committing careless turnovers. I will worry about either Penn State or Texas if we get that far next weekend but seeing how Xavier played against Kennesaw State yesterday I like Pitt’s chances to win this game as well and move on to Kansas City next week and the Sweet 16.

Part of the poor offense may have been playing the 9th and 20th scoring defenses in the country. I chalk some of that up to that, but also at same time have been pleased with Pitts response. We would not have won tourney games in the past scoring 60 points, yet they have won two. Xavier is 290 in scoring defense per game.

Conversely, Xavier is 12th in nation in scoring. ISU was last in B12 and MsST second to last in SEC. If there was ever a time to shoot better and keep up the D, tomorrow is it. Reminds me of that early season ACC stretch where they went 4-0 And started clicking on all cylinders.

A lot of our shots yesterday, especially from Hinson, looked the result of tired legs. I’m sure some of that had to do with operating against that tough D. I’m hopeful that playing a more standard defense after playing two really tough ones will allow our shooters to get back into a groove.

Amazing that we won a tourney game with only three players barely in double digits.

If Pitt plays tomorrow how they did in those first 4 ACC games with NC State, Syracuse, North Carolina and Virginia and Hinson and Elliott are letting it fly and Burton is doing his thing then Pitt will beat Xavier.

Pitt could not be in a better bracket if they picked the other team themselves, all teams are very beatable, if pitt plays the way they are capable of playing they could go a long way. H2P

I wouldn't worry about potentially playing PissU yet. They will probably lose their game against Texas, if the oddsmakers are right. But lately, that is in question.
