Taggart to FSU

when i mentioned his name early on for for a big florida job, you thought those schools could do much better.
Seeing some conflicting reports on this, but the press conference he gave concerning the Las Vegas Bowl matchup seemed more than a little disingenuous. Read that if he accepts the job he would be bringing Jim Leavitt with him, which would be interesting.
I think Taggert has the most upside of all the guys that were mentioned for the job.
Sumlin or Fuente probably a safer choice, Taggert maybe more a boom or bust type. I’d be surprised though if he doesn’t do very well there.
Feldman and a few other more reputable guys are saying this is premature.

I think he is an excellent recruiter, but I am not sold on him as an upper echelon coach. The staff he puts in place will determine whether he is around 8 wins on average or 10+ wins on average. Jimbo won 2 national titles, and there were people that were okay with him walking. That is the bar they set. Pretty high if you ask me.
This is a lesson in never following a coach. Bruce Judson a RB from Florida de-committed from Ohio State when Urban couldn’t remember his name. Pitt was in the running, but he committed to USF with Taggart. He de-committed again after Taggart left for Oregon and ended up thousands of miles from home. Now, he has to sit out another year if he wants to move closer to home. So, so dumb.
Taggart will be a good hire for them. Will be interesting if Nike throws down for Oregon and says "nope, here is more money".
They already threw down more money last week, even before the Jimbo news became official. Oregon officials knew that Taggert was going to be the number one target of FSU.

Agree. He will knock it out of the park recruiting wise at FSU. Still not sure about him as it comes to coaching on the field, but recruiting he will be scary in Florida.
Ha. Was coming in for the same thing. Maybe we’ll see Rosewood to Arkansas. And Foley to Tennessee.
Supposedly he had an unbelievable staff at Oregon. If he brings all his staff with him, FSU fans will be celebrating in the streets. They weren't huge fans of Jimbo.
I am watching an interview with him on ESPN, and he has really aged since I saw him coach at USF. He looked like he was 35 at USF, and he looked closer to 55 today.
