For the new Aliens movie? This is hilarious, what a great choice for a song. See, the thing about stereotypes, is they only piss off people because they are usually true.

I guess after being stuck on another planet being attacked by aliens, West Virginia really wouldn't sound that bad.

good song. great singer. bad pilot.
LOL! John Denver was a great Song Writer at first, then did his own Music, and his songs reflected what was going on in his life, he actually died in an New Type of Long EZ Plane when it crashed and John joined the many Singers like Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, Big Bopper, Jim Croce, Rickey Nelson, Patsy Cline, Otis Redding, and others and some were included in a Song by Rock and Roll Heaven Righteous Brothers.

Jimmy Webb, Carole Bayer Sager, John Denver were terrific Song Writers and Dylan that Won the Noble PrIze.

You really believe that ? If so then you should get a refund on your degree ?
Because I guess all black people look alike ?
All black people don't know who their father is?
All Hispanic people are lazy ?
All Asians are smart and have the same hair cut ?
All people of Irish descent are drunks ?
All people of Italian are in it related to some one in the mob ?
Shall I continue ?
If you really believe your post then any school that has you as a alumnus should be ashamed to acknowledge it.

I shake my head every time I hear that song. F'n idiots who wrote it obviously didn't know neither the Blue Ridge Mtns or Shenandoah River are IN West Virginia?!?

And how f'n hard would it have been to change to Allegheny Mtns and Greenbrier River?!? Good God... there are some stupid mf'ers out there.

hmm, Harpers Ferry is where the Shenandoah ends after it runs through a large portion of the state. really not that hard of a research project..think something important happened there once...Western panhandle has a tiny piece of the Blue Ridge so it might be a judgement call on that one..

Yes, but the song says..."WEST VIRGINIA".......not "Western Virginia".

I like it and all John Denver as well, agree to disagree but not disconnect with respect!

Um, did you ever see the movie 'Wrong Turn' and any of the sequels? Although, I guess it would be easier to outrun those mutants in that movie compared to being trapped on a planet with those Alien Creatures. Actually, would have been more fitting, if that movie used the John Denver song in their tv adverts.

Probably would've been outrage from the local... well, mutants.

Unless of course you were caught by that family in "Wrong Turn" Wasn't that supposed to be in West Virginia?

Well I serve the question right back to you. Aliens or West Virginia mutants?

I would choose Aliens, except for the fact, that they can impregnate you with one of those things, then put you in some pod during its gestation period, in some dank, slimy hot and humid hell hole....then it bursts out of your stomach. So....that is not a good thing.

Wait a minute...are you describing Morgantown?

Honestly, I lived in Morgantown, live now back in the Pittsburgh area, grew up here. There are many more towns worse than Morgantown in Western Pa. Trust me. Friggin Kittanning? Connellsville? Johnstown? New Castle? Come on....

Yes, I know. I was trying to be funny. Guess I wasn't.

1. You might want to calm down.
2. No one said that or classified those stereotypes as "all". I think the stereotypes are generally perceived as "most" or "more than normal".

However, to all those you brought up: do you believe all those because you sure put forth a pretty expansive list. I hadn't even heard some of those. And who thinks "Hispanic people are lazy"? If anything the "stereotype" is they are willing to do the shitty, hard labor other people don't want to do or for way less.

Both the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah River are in West Virginia. It isn't their predominate location, but both surely are in the state.

and this makes Morgantown nice, how? This is like saying Lena Dunham is hot by listing the cast of the View (sans usually hot conservative chicks) in comparison.
