Take a serious look at Dixon's performance over the short and long term compared to the relative salaries and resources allocated to the program??? Of course it will. Our positions on these measures are not really relevant; but, Pitt's is. The same analysis that was used to assess The former athletic director will be used here. Hard numbers on historic and current regular and post season performance, revenue generated, attendance numbers and trends, academic performance, conduct and discipline issues will be compared to market data on salaries, recruiting resources ,etc etc. We can all have opinions on these matters but what counts in the final analysis is Pitt's assessment of the facts and the relative market analysis of the resources allocated. Historical regular season performance over our tenure in the big east is important, but so is current regular season performance in the ACC,post season performance on historic and current bases and relative economic resources(salaries and recruiting expenses, etc).allocated. Will Dixon's program survive this analysis is anybody's guess; but, you are kidding yourselves if you think it won't be done and soon.
