TCU fired Trent Johnson after 4 years & 50-79 record. This past season TCU was 12-21 overall & 2-16 in BIG 12. Johnson previously coached at LSU, Stanford & Nevada. He took all 3 teams to the NCAA.
TCU hasn't been to NCAA Tournament since 1998.
BIG 12 plays full Home & away season schedule against all BIG 12 teams.
If Jamie thinks it is difficult to win in the ACC, I don't see how 2 games each year against Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa ST,, Oklahoma St & WVU is any better than facing ACC powerhouses. Probably worse.
TCU at this point is probably 4th or 5th option for a basketball recruit from Texas.
Maybe Jamie thinks it is time to move on. When you consider all aspects of a move from Pitt/ACC to TCU/BIG 12, I think it is professional suicide for Jamie IMO.
If he does make the move to TCU, then I truly believe Jamie thinks his time at Pitt has run its course.
