You do know you can love Pitt basketball and be pissed off at the results and team play past 4 years , right ? You don't have to accept the mess and still be a fan. Guys like you, why we had Pederson and Nerdy around far too long

At least for me, I just don't see any value in letting the outcome of a sporting event spark such an emotional reaction. I want to see Pitt win. But a loss, however heartbreaking it may be, doesn't affect my life beyond the entertainment value I take from the game.

Yes I play no-limit mostly back home.... but I've found the 4-8 kill games out here have VERY loose players and it is like taking candy from a baby. The typical 4-8 kill players at Hollywood Park are:

- Loose-aggressive young (usually asian or black) players who raise and re-raise constantly in an effort to intimidate and build pots. When they hit, you'll lose a bunch - but it usually temporary because you'll get it all back on the hands you have the courage to hang in there when you catch a piece of the flop (because they usually won't).

- Loose-passive old women who literally pay to see the flop every. single. hand. They will call pre-flop raises to see the flop with literally any two cards.

- Tight-passive old men who are playing with the SS checks. They literally never, ever, ever bluff and if they are in a hand past the flop, they have good cards and caught a nice piece of the flop.

For most of the past three days, I was the one of the few native-English speakers at the table. The asian community out here loves their 4-8 kill.

My three days out here so far are +281, +322, and +27. So I'm up about $625.

I'm in LA for work the rest of the week. But no games for me tonight, Have to work late. I'll play again on Thursday and Friday.

Glad you won. Hollywood Park is a total dump though. When I go it is usually on a Saturday night when they have a high stakes cash game. At least you can order food to the tables though in Cali.

I find the food at Hollywood Park, especially the breakfasts, to be better than one would expect.

I'm going to try to go to Hawaiian Gardens tomorrow, but not sure since it is a bit of a drive from where I am (Santa Monica).

Go to Commerce if you really want to find poker games, tons of games. Biggest poker room in Southern California but it is also a bit of a drive.

I've been to Commerce .. besides being big, it doesn't do it for me. Bicycle is almost as big and closer.

Be careful in the Hawaiian Gardens area, it isn't one of the finer parts of Southern California! Much of the area around the Hawaiian Gardens town is pretty good, but the Hawaiian Gardens town itself is very sketchy and dangerous. I've been warned about that area many times by friends who live in the Southern LA area.

I don't think a death knell yet. The field is weaker this year. Even with no big wins, 20-10 might make it.

I was there last night. The casino parking lot is patrolled continuously by security guards. I never felt unsafe.

I been to the casino like 10 times, I think I know the games, and if I leave minus 100, feel like I won something. It takes a gift to be a poker wizard. I can take money playing with the boys, get to the casino and get spanked. I do better with a 5 dollar parley card once a week
