Dude.... we ain't winning AT Clemson.
I like our team and its progress.... but we ain't winning out.
The weather throws a big "what if" into this game. Pitt had them going backwards.
While we have some real weaknesses until Nard-Dog can get the young guys ready, the attitude of the team has certainly changed. In the past, this is the type of game where we would have gotten blow out.
Pitt is a good team. Toss sweep on 3rd and medium fools noone and works exactly never times. I agree if not for the weather delay, Pitt was going to win. Took the wind out of the sail, if you will. That said, I was expecting a 1 TD loss and that's what happened.
Not really. We held them the first three drives after the delay.
The offense needed to respond after at least ONE of those.
The 4th quarter offense was atrocious.
I don't agree that the weather delay hurt Pitt.
The defense came out and shut OSU down the first three drives after the delay.
Needed the offense to do SOMETHING, ANYTHING... after those stops.
Weather hurt the home team just as much...emptied out half the crowd and allowed our defense to regain their strength and make adjustments.
Pitt has a lot of heart and fight, but we just aren't very good. We lost to a team with a poor defense that cant run the ball. The Panthers can still win a lot of games, but the type of losses like today are really disheartening.
I agree. This team his guts like I've never seen. Unfortunately, they're simply not very talented.
They lost to what should be a Top 25 team on the road on a TD late in the game. This team is solid and trending in the right direction.
My barometer of progress at this point is getting a national game on tv against a quality opponent and at least givin a respectable showing. Too many years we show up at today's game with high hopes and promise only to get humiliated. Still a lot of holes to shore up, but heading in the right direction, overall
Pitt dominated post delay, until the last play. Did OKSU even have a 1st down post delay before the long pass?
Then we get the drive going out to the 50 with a chance to not give them the ball back and then a toss sweep. Don't get me wrong, I love Narduzzi and would not trade him for anyone other then the obvious choices (Saban, Meyer, etc.), but damn if you are not going to throw on 3rd down and 4 all freaking game, put Whitehead or Henderson in at qb and run the damn triple option or wildcat or something.
I am just frustrated that they fight so hard to get back in the game and dominate from the middle of the 2nd quarter on and lose because of being overly conservative. It felt like Wanny 2.0??
