Yeah but that program was a complete mess from the top down. I would jump on Martin. We have been looking for a recruiting hammer. He is familiar with the city......why not?

Why can he do better? He was a WR coach up until a year or 2. You think Michigan’s and Alabama’s of the world want him for an OC? I would think WR coach and recruiting coordinator like he was at USC maybe.
That’s where Pitt needs to step in and say, we’ll keep you an OC and pay you what the big boys would pay you in a lesser role. Pitt’s recruiting needs this. He’s very familiar with Pittsburgh/east coast (Steelers and Vols).
You got Tee...I’ll take the field if Pitt releases Watson or he leaves.

Tee was OC for a team w 21 wins in 2 yrs and won a Rose Bowl...this yr he had true freshman at QB and WR plus several OL R-Fr playing and getting significant snaps.
The HC had to get rid of half his staff to save his ass....

First off, our current OC, who is still employed, came from Texas to Indiana, where we hired him. Martin getting axed at USC and going to Pitt isnt a stretch, especially since he used to work in Pittsburgh.
Secondly, most of our OCs came from P5 schools. Our budget seems to be pretty on par with most P5 schools. Martin is probably going to get some HC interviews, but there really is no reason he wouldnt go to Pitt if he didnt have a job AND we had an oppening.
