They seem to be taking incompetence to a whole new level. They now have 14 players in the transfer portal. 5 assistant coaches have left (and none have been replaced, and they seemingly aren't looking to replace them right now) Their program has been kneecapped by an internal investigation, that somehow was leaked to the media. The HC & AD seem to be twisting in the wind, with no firm decision about their future on Rocky Top either way,

Perhaps they are waiting on the NFL season to be over so they can see if Jon Gruden is available. 😂

And yeah... as Pitt fan, I would never pencil in a 4-0 start before the clock hits 0:00 against New Hampshire September 25th at Heinz Field. (or even 1-0 after Bowling Green 2008) We've been down that road too many times before.

Going to the Tennessee game is a definite road trip for me next year. A cool SEC location. Hope that Pitt doesn’t lay their annual egg in Knoxville.

I wonder if that investigation was “somehow leaked” by Fulmer, trying to get rid of Pruitt and his contract...

I already have my hotel booked for this trip
Assuming the pandemic is done by then, I think we’re going to make the trip from Kansas City. Next closest games would be Western Michigan and Louisville in 2022, and Tennessee is a “once-in-a-lifetime” type game.

With the easy schedule Duzz set up, anything less than 3-1 is a disgrace Mrs Duzzi

No. Fulmer is sort of tied to Pruitt. I really don't think it's something he initiated, and I don't think it's something he wanted leaked. I think he's twisting right now every bit as much as Pruitt. I think there is a Game of Thrones playing out among some of their power boosters. Totally dysfunctional, toxic environment.

Good point. Perhaps it was someone that wanted both of them out!

Yet he’s the last successful coach they’ve had there. Go figure.

It's all about recruiting. South Carolina & Clemson sucked back then. LSU was in the tank during the Mike Archer & Gerry DiNardo days. The NCAA took down Alabama & Auburn. (this was when NCAA penalties actually had teeth. Although they did tag PSU & USC pretty good) Ole Miss was on probation (Peyton probably goes there if they weren't) Florida was the ONLY other really good program in the league, for a stretch of about 6 or 7 years. When RIcht, Tubberville, Saban/Miles, Meyer, Holtz/Spurrier etc moved in and started winning the recruiting battles for the high end talent, the Vols tanked. Also, Cutliffe pretty much ran practices and held guys accountable for conditioning work, meetings, discipline etc. The Vols were pretty much a rudderless ship with out Cut.
