I know that everyone says that elite athletes are not afraid of elite competition, but I wonder if there has ever been a study that looks at the careers of four star recruits in college and the NFL and sees how it correlates to the previous recruiting class of the team they committ to. I wonder if earlier playing time, and additional practice reps from making it to first or second string earlier better prepares you for the NFL. I could only imagine what a study like that would do for “Upper Middle Class” schools like Pitt. They could say to “Billy Hardass” who is elite that avoiding a school with 4 5* recruits at your position lowers your chance of going to the NFL or lasting in the NFL by a certain percentage. I bet that would be a game changer. If recruits are willing to skip bowl games to better NFL chances, they could go for less competition, and not feel like cowards, because they would know it was a smart decision. What do you think?
