Alright so let's talk about the two scenarios that Pitt had going into last week:
1) Pitt wins. They have the chance to play for the ACC Championship again (with a VT win today and a Pitt win tomorrow), and maybe be named the number 2 team in the ACC. If that all were to happen, we would have played Clemson (and probably would have been blown out) followed but ALABAMA or GEORGIA (and probably would have been blown out.
2) Pitt loses. They have the chance to play for their best season in YEARS (win tomorrow and win the bowl game). Finish 9-4 and have the CHANCE to finish the season ranked or start next year ranked.
I know we got embarrassed last week, but it might be a blessing in disguise. I know you may say, "Well you're just saying that because we lost," and you might be right, but the best-case scenario for BOTH options above is likely a 9 win season. With the loss to VT, we probably have one less loss at the end of the year.
Idk. Glass half full.
