As we know from Stallings 1.0. I would like to believe Capel would have done better following Dixon II than after Stallings, but the time is likely now for both Capel and Pitt to part ways. I just hope they choose more wisely this time in the replacement.

Nobody wanted the job when we fired stallings. No one. We will find out the same thing if we jettison HCJC. Of course Hurley schooled our HOF AD

It's a different landscape now than any previous time we hired a coach. It's all about NIL. If you have a program with good NIL and a school that is going to pay the coach the job is more desirable.

Correction: everyone wanted the job for the right price.

Also, Pitt could have had their pick of the mid-major lottery tickets. The Hofstra coach or somebody like that wasn't turning down an ACC job. So they could have basically had their pick of those MM guys.

We need a developmental coach and/or X and O’s coach that has built at least one program. We can’t rely on an assistant or hot shot recruiting guy like Capel because it’s all about NIIL money.

Right. Times have changed. NIL does the recruiting. You need a guy who is a proven winner at multiple levels. A guy like Ben McCollum, who won 4 D2 Natty's and took his team to D1 this season (playing with Drake uniforms) and are lighting it up. Elite coach.

You guys are fools , thinking that firing JC is the answer , the only way to succeed at the level you think is possible today is with a huge sack of cash which Pitt’s NIL doesn’t have.

The first and last question any desirable coach would ask is what funds are available to him . Deal breaker .

Since the 60’s Pitt bb excelled in two windows , three if you count Billy Knights final two seasons . The first was the result of the Golden Panthers and cash and the second was the Howland/ JD 1 ( since JD 2 got him forced out by idiots ) . Without an influx of cash there will be an occasional team that excels otherwise expect mediocrity .

The answer is cash .

It’s both. There’s no question the landscape has changed and if you don’t have the dough you’re screwed, but Capel aint it. He just isn’t.

We are paying middle of the road, maybe upper middle of the road player salaries. In fact, our payroll might be 4th in the ACC behind Duke, UNC, and Miami.

Capel has to go. He can't coach. Literally the worst X and O coach in the ACC. When was the last time on an out of bounds play you said to yourself, wow, great play call by Capel. Never
