Miami I understand, but
Florida State? With that
said, I would have Pitt
ahead of them both (no
bias here since I'm not a
Pitt grad). I would also
have Clemson and Syracuse
a little higher.

Academically as a
conference it's a pretty
strong list with Louisville
being the exception.

Of course US News as a
rating service is not
highly regarded. However
IMO, it is accepted as
gospel by the general
public, and because of
that, colleges pay attention
to it.

FSU is a very solid university that has improved a great deal from being perceived as just a football/party school in the 80s.

Idk what they used for this. But florida state over Miami or pitt is ridiculous. Just looking at average gpa/sat scores needed to get into both. F state is substantially lower.

They may also factor in cost and FSU is significantly cheaper to attend, at least for those in state.

I don't think FSU is currently at the level of Pitt academically. But it's probably a lot closer than many would believe.
