In the first half, VT has 186 yards of offense, most of it through the air by Motley who has only been sacked once (Pitt dropped him 7 times) and has 3 TD passes but 0 interceptions. They've run 17 times for 62 yards (9 vs Pitt). VT has held NCState to 142 yards, but the Wolfpack have been somewhere between OK and unspectacular running it (71 yards, 3.6 ypc) and passing it (76 yards, 6.3 ypa), but with no turnovers. The score might be closer if NCState didn't have 64 penalty yards to VT's 5.

How good is 4-1 NCState? They crushed 4 straight crap opponents to start the year (49-21 vs Troy, 35-0 vs Eastern Kentucky, 38-14 vs Old Dominion, 63-13 vs South Alabama), and then lost 20-13 to Louisville in a sloppy, punt-filled game. Jury is still out on Louisville since they have close losses at Auburn, vs 5-0 Houston, and vs Clemson (losses were by 7, 3, and 3, respectively), with their only other win being a blowout over Samford. Long story short, Louisville is a small step below a top-25-caliber team, and NCState is probably a small step behind them.

But yeah, VT is taking care of that business one week after getting totally locked down by Pitt.

VT just scored on a 59 yard run - now lead NC State 28-13 with 7 minutes left to play.

Go Pitt.

28-13 final score. Did we play against the same VT team or a weaker one last week?

Virginia is stronger than their W-L record indicates. An upset by them tomorrow is well within the realm of real possibility.

Another thing that makes Pitt look good : our defense this year
Spot on. VT/NC State had nothing to do with Pitt. How Pitt's defense played against Va Tech is what made us look good. Maybe if Tech got pounded tonight you could say Pitt should have played that well against them. I just don't think them winning a game makes last week's game any more or less impressive. It was what it was, an OUTSTANDING defensive performance!

Good Post with superb points and comparisons, and so long as Coach Pat & Staff have a great Game Plan and Execute it on Offense, Defense, and Special Teams and again shows improvements, then Pitt will win pass the line.

As stated, this UVA game, coach, and team scares me but I have Cautious Confidence Pitt is on the ascendancy due to Coach Narduzzi from I witness from game 1 to 4, but if Pitt beats UVA and GT, Pitt can have a terrific season.

On the other hand, if Pitt Offense continues to "Stull" (Oregon State Bowl Game Nightmare) then Pitt is on another coaching abyss!

My only reaction will be what was said in The Godfather but I will paraphrase on Pitt Football.......If Pitt Loses to UVA:

"You talk about Pederson...did Pederson gonna bring Pitt Football back to you or seeing 10 wins every year to all of us? I forgo those nightmare coaching changes....But I have selfish reasons.

My youngest memories were about Pitt winning in 1963 becoming #2 Team in the Nation, but was forced to downgrade football Because of the Big Four Agreement Limiting 25 Scholarships and Foreign Language Requirements to graduate more Doctors, Lawyers, and Dentists after College? All right ... and later Pitt Chancellors had to have to make arrangements to bring Pitt Football back in the Top 25 safely – cleared of all these false charges often made up by the Paterno Klan.

But if Pitt Offense that scored 30 points a game last year doesn't improve well.....I'm a superstitious man and if some unlucky accident should befall Pitt...or if Pitt QB should take a shot in the head by a Virginia Lineman because he can't scramble.... or if he should hang balls up to long to be intercepted.......or if he's struck by a bolt of lightning from KDKA The Fan Radio miss wiring by that odd Baloney Fella....then I'm going to blame some of the people on this coaching staff!

And that, I do not forgive.....But that aside let me say that I swear on the souls of my cats that I will not be the one to fire anyone until the end of this season after the game we witness here today?

Inside the Pitt Locker Room where the Don "Duzzi" and Chaney are sitting in the rear......

Chaney: When I meet with Chad should I insist that his runs have less scrambles so he can have a clean record & vision on improving the Offense?

Don Nuzzi...Mention it. Don't insist. Peterman is a QB who'll know that without being told.

Chaney.....You mean Chad Voytik...!

Peterman's is a pocket passer not learning the system you put in, after this Virginia Game Lost...it is clear to me now Peterman could never out run Voytik.....But I didn't know until this day that it was.....You Chaney All Along ......Whattsa matter with you? I think your brain is going soft and stay off the donuts that sugar is making your head foggy and our Offense too!

Just some fun in case we lose? If Pitt wins big, it just shows the Coaching Staff is just fine and knows what it is doing playing the players they choose, so relax and enjoy the game.

Don Duzzi... love it!

Chaney: I can handle things, I'm smart! Not like everyone says, like dumb. I'm smart and I want respect
!
LOL!:p I like and respect Chaney but my Bookie Friends are mystified on why he made some changes to an Offense that was as pretty good, but if they win Big Today that will just show Chaney knew what he was doing!

We shall see?

I at least think he knows what he's doing. I just don't think he calls the greatest plays. Interesting point Chris Mueller and callers were talking about postgame yesterday though. He brought up the point that maybe the Voytik sweep is just so other teams see that on tape, and one day when nobody expects it, he throws the ball to someone wide open. He also said if that's not the case, Pitt is just really dumb for doing that every single time he comes into the game.
We will see, Chaney is still fairly new. Amazing to me the Voytik play though, as well as 3rd and short routes that can't pick up first downs. The offense totally stalled yesterday in the second half as well, although the refs generously gave UVA the ball back in the fourth still down 13.

Iowa remains undefeated. Pitt gave them all they could handle on the road at night and lost on a fluke FG. Pitt is absolutely a 4-1 team.
