I can completely get on board with this hire if we are convinced that Scheyer can recruit, and in a big way. Basketball x's and o's will take care of themselves. This is not rocket science folks. I haven't seen him interviewed but he needs to be a sales person, with fans and especially recruits. If he can recruit, we have a great chance here.
First, can he convince most of the returning team to come back?
Can he land some big time recruits even in the neighborhood of the talent they were getting at Duke? You only need to luck out with one or two of these types of guys, and they are instant program changers.
I think Scheyer will be able to land some recruits, mainly because of the Duke and Coach K tie-in. Knows the ACC territory and people in that region know him.
