Gonna be a lot of close toss-up games this year, like this one, cannot afford to lose these type games AT HOME.Was figuring this *would've* been a W today, but Pitt had other plans ha.Just get to a postseason tournament at least, but this was a game they needed.
Remember last year? The mantra was we get the lower level ACC teams at home this year and games like this would flip our way. So much for that.Yea it sure did and that’s the most frustrating part. You thought losses to these kinds of teams weren’t gonna happen this season like they did last season but they still are. This loss to Wake is even more brutal because it was at home. I thought maybe Pitt could possibly sneak in the NCAA tournament but after this loss today I don’t think they can. They are just too unpredictable and can either beat any team on any given night or lose to them. And more often it seems like they lose more then win.
Could they be playing too many minutes? So frustrating, this Pitt team is at times. Beat FSU, lose to Nicholls. Be up by 16, only up at 3 at half. Sluggish starts recently, 2nd half collapses to let Northern Illinois and Canisius back into games. Consistently inconsistent. X and Trey are nerve-wracking at times. Need to SLOW down and not drive into traffic over and over.

Yikes! You thought they could sneak into the NCAA tournament with a ZERO inside game by Pitt. 7.5 favorite at home that blows a 16 point lead to the lowest ranked ACC BB team.Yea it sure did and that’s the most frustrating part. I won’t say more talentedThere is only one team that Pitt is obviously better than in terms of talent and it is BC. Let’s not forget that there is still a long way to go in that department. Wake man for man had better players from what my eyes have showed the last few years. They are in the running for worst team in the ACC because Manning can’t coach his way out of a wet paper bag.

For a coach that can't coach his way out of a wet paper bag, he coached a team for the most part that managed to get and take good shots. There is only one team that Pitt is obviously better than in terms of talent and it is BC. It was a coin flip gameFor a coach that can't coach his way out of a wet paper bag, he coached a team for the most part that managed to get and take good shots.
He coached a team that overcame a 16 point deficit on the road. He beat a team that was a significant favorite at home. He beat same team last season.
What does that say about our coach?
It was a coin flip game
That’s not a significant favorite
Capel did not push the right buttons today that’s for sure. But he has done enough in 2 short years to get the most out of a roster that still has a long way to go to win in the ACC consistently. For a coach that can't coach his way out of a wet paper bag, he coached a team for the most part that managed to get and take good shots.

YesPitt was like -6 or -7 right? That's not a coin flip. Pitt was expected to win this game.
Only issue i has was going back to the zone in the second half -Capel did not push the right buttons today that’s for sure. But he has done enough in 2 short years to get the most out of a roster that still has a long way to go to win in the ACC consistently.
Agree. So many times last season we would be in a tight game and we inevitably let a guy get hot and make a few shots to bury us or put the game just out of our reach. I saw it again today when we let Massoud hit back to back threes when the game was tied at 49.looked a lot like our losses to weaker opposition in the second half of the ACC schedule last season.
