That's the reality of it. Its like an experiment in progress every week. Wonder what'll happen if we try this? Let's see what happens if we try that? No rhyme or reason to the calls, sets, personnel use, etc. No rhythm or continuity.

That waggle pass play Chaney likes to run has never worked-Peterman turns off the fake and there is ALWAYS a defender in his face, resulting in dangerous and ineffective back foot throws and/or sacks. Peterman does so much better in the pocket, and the O line does a lot better in protecting him in the pocket.

This is a Duke defense that was just absolutely shredded last week and we can't sustain a possession.

Oh god, the waggle pass. That's the first thing I would seriously consider never running again.

Again, Narduzzi's biggest brain fart...should've left the previous offensive system in place.

Bring one of the better high school coaches in for the end of then year at least it won't be so disorganized, unbelievable.

James Conner would help any offense look much better. Our running backs are definitely a couple levels lower in talent than him.

This is the worst offense I've seen at Pitt since Stull got hurt and we had to use the Bostick/Smith combo. Its really really bad. The root of it though is that our OL is terrible at run blocking. Were they that bad last year but Conner made up for it?

We have a below average line and below average backs. I cant believe we have a chance ti go 7-3

The knock on Chaney at Arkansas was the offense had too many plays. Players were confused. Last week we had 12 men on the field coming out of a timeout. This week we have QB center miscommunication. Wonder what next week will bring?

We need all Whitehead, all the time in the 2nd half. Anything for a spark.

badby hit the nail on the head - no continuity, no rhythm.

chaney runs his offense like a kid playing madden. rhythm and continuity don't matter when how the players play is determined by an algorithm and the variables plugged into it and the players are computer-generated images on a TV screen. in the real world it's just a bit different.

It's happened multiple times, but last week sticks out since it was THE FIRST PLAY OUT OF HALFTIME!!!!!!!!!
Oh yea, believe me I was livid at that point. I'm just trying to say I don't think it was just a one time mistake, I think Chaney is confuzzled and well, the kids gotta listen to what the coach says.

That was inexcusable, bush league stuff, especially when we all know the entire first possession of each half is basically scripted. It's one thing for us to bitch about Chaney, but at some point the boss is gong to run out of patience with the Big Fella.

The arrogance of Chaney to run a pitch play when we are in kill the clock mode.
I'll never get this OC.
He sucks. He's been holding the offense back all season. Add Whitehead in the mix though and we have some real talent that even Chaney can't stop himself.

Chanel's offense put up 31. He didn't make James fumble. You guys are truly unreal.
Chaney also did not rip the ball from the defender's arms in the endzone, break off huge runs, or make any of the impressive throws. You said it yourself a stud running back makes a coordinator look better. Good play at any position will make him look better. It's even more unreal you want to glorify the guy and not give most of, if not all the credit to the kids out there playing their hearts out.

A bad play call is not a good one just because a player bailed the coach out. It just proves you wrong that our talent is clearly better than just mediocre. Granted, it's not outstanding all around, but there's a few guys that any team in the country would take in a heartbeat. Also, a few more that are just playing much better than anyone could've expected.

--Nate Peterman threw 3 TD passes and no INTs - in spite of shaky pass blocking at times.

--Pitt ran 58 times (versus 23 passes) and gained 268 yards on the ground.

--Duke double-teamed T. Boyd, so he had 8 carries today for 80 yards, to go with 3 receptions.

--My only complaint is I'd like to see more passes to the TEs.

Remember that we lost our best offensive lineman and our best RB...

BOTTOM LINE: Pitt is 7 and 3. Hallelujah!

Go Pitt.

And he ran the pitch play again. Don't get that play when you're just killing the clock.
It makes zero sense whatsoever. Fact is, we just have better players than Duke. We're not the most talented team in the league, that is still to come in the future. But we clearly have some kids who can play, and they were the reason we won today.

The offensive line is not the problem. We average over 4 yards per carry. Plus, we ran for over 300 yards today.

The problem is our OC is not patient enough with the run game. Example was the 1st half of this game.
The oline is not the problem. Stats say a different story
