win 65-59 25 out 0f 32 games is better than watching this falsely acclaimed offensive force

How long has it been since a tv announcer has said that Pitt outworked the other team after a game? Way too long.

Don't disagree, and I am starting to agree with the thought that playing bad teams in ooc allows these players to develop bad habits and coast for too long during games.

When the Roundball Classic was in full swing there was a kid out of Philly who was regarded as the #1 recruit in the country until he came here for the game. When he went up against guys his size and strength he wasn't anything special and he lost over 100 offers. ( I don't recall his name ) what does this have to do with this current Pitt team ? I've been saying this for awhile that their OOC schedule other than padding their record doesn't really give you an indication of the ability of the team and playing against guys that your clearly better than doesn't prove anything or improve your level of play. This team simply would have been exposed sooner. This is a flawed Pitt team, that can't play D , they can't cope with quickness or strength and if their offense isn't clicking might as well chalk up a loss. The pieces they added at center and shooting guard while an upgrade just isn't enough to compete against really good teams .( Clemson is good and has defeated Duke,Louisville and Miami ) This was another disappointing performance , but no reason to give up on the season they'll surprise you somewhere and they'll disappoint us somewhere and life will go on.

It's like if you are an up and comer in chess do you really get anything out playing someone at a much lower level? No of course not, you'll win but it doesn't give you any clue as to how good you really are.

You may very well be right that playing better teams earlier on in the season would do nothing more than expose the warts more quickly, but I say, good. I want to see how guys respond when they are punched in the mouth when challenged so that when the conference season comes around, I know who isn't going to quit on me when the going gets tough and who can handle some adversity.

I just think that with this particular team it wouldn't have mattered ,they don't have guys sitting on the bench that could make a difference. Although I'd like to see Luther play more.
