Or, if you prefer....the new Title IX coordinator they hired from Point Park in April.

Dior was reinstated. Practicing with the team. Traveling with the team. Going to classes. Going to Europe. And his status as a full member of the team may have made Pitt less attractive to guys like Girard and Touissant since there are only so many minutes to go around. Pitt is desperate for more scoring. We had Girard on campus and that lost recruiting battle is the sole reason why Clemson is going to the NCAAT and we are not.

Not sure Clemson is an NCAA tourney team.

Capel is also a bad coach let's just tell it like it is.

Not cutting Dior loose immediately was just stupid.

I should also say if you want to blame Capel and Heather for taking Dior back, that's also fair. His presence as a member of the team this off-season cost us a difference-making player. We either needed him or we needed to be able to sell the opportunity to be "the man" to a guy like Girard. Freakin Pitt man. Nobody self-sanctions like we do.

Girard is an undersized sharp shooter. Almost every team would love to have a guy like that on their roster. That said, I'm not sure he greatly elevates a team to a new level though.

He's an additional scorer so if you have Hinson, Leggett, Carrington....or Hall/Hunter, its the difference between going to the NCAAT. Case in point. Hunter didnt do anything today but Girard lit our asses.

Possibly. He's a liability defensively though. Every game I've watched him against UVA, he just seems in over his head and he tries to force things.

Defense is overrated. Everyone sucks at D except UVa and Wisconsin. Its not like we are locking people down.

As usual, don't let facts get in the way of your incorrect narratives. Take some time and read the attached accounting of what really happened w Johnson.

I dont pay for the PG so I cant read that. The Title IX complaint was filed late Spring/Summer. It was not filed in September and it took a year to figure this out. The new Title IX coordinator filed it late either on her own or on the advice of Gabel. One thing is for certain, the victim didnt file the Title IX report. She isnt a Pitt student and lives in Texas so I doubt she cares whether he attends college in Pittsburgh or not. Pitt self-sanctioned themselves here.

Clemson is a good team. The Missouri game is the one we let go.

Winning at all costs isn’t in Pitt’s DNA. Waiting until the last second to cut him loose was the most absurd part of the decision making process.

Clemson is much better than Missouri. Its ashame we refused to guard the living legend, UMass transfer Shawn East just like we couldn't locate Joe Girard on the court. Too hard to find. Perimeter D is bad. Post D is bad.

They can, would be surprised if they finished below 4th. Well coached, tough, depth, have an NBA big and the other guys play well in their roles.
I think they will finish in the top half of the league. I'm not willing to go past that. I'm not convinced they any kind of shoo-in for the NCAA tournament. Once again, they are doing themselves no favors with their non-conference scheduling.

Clemson is a team full of upperclassmen. The core has played together a while, so I don't know that they are going to grow a lot from what they are today. Whereas I think some other teams in the conference may possibly be a lot better in mid-January than what we think they are today. Pitt could perhaps be one of those.

They looked awfully good yesterday ! They will be dancing .
Pitt has a way of always making Clemson look better than they are. Pitt lets them run their offensive sets and never really takes away any part of their game. They always get points in the paint and wide open looks on the perimeter. It's the same thing every year.

made Pitt less attractive to guys like Girard
Since Joe Girard and I are from the same home town (he grew up only a couple of blocks from where I live), I have followed his college career with great interest. I was disappointed and also puzzled when he decided to transfer to Clemson. I wondered why Clemson? The only thing I could think of was that his favorite color was orange.

But after seeing yesterday's game and hearing the commentators talk about the make up of Clemson's roster, I began to realize that he may have chosen Clemson because they were a veteran team that just missed the NCAA tournament last year and for which he could be the final piece of the puzzle in getting them there this year. And after not getting to the tournament his last two years at 'Cuse, he wanted to get there one more time. I have no idea if he considered Pitt, but if he did he may have thought that Pitt would not be a vetaran team this year and their chances of getting back to the tournament were not as good as Clemson. It looks like he made a good choice, at least so far.

Along with the difference between Clemson's and Pitt's front courts, Girard was the difference in yesterday's game. His 25 point killed us.

March 2016 was the last time we beat them. We have beaten every other ACC team since then, except maybe Duke

We beat Duke 79-73 on January 20, 2021. Both Justin and Au'Diese had monster games. Justin had 31 points and 14 rebounds and Au'Diese had 22 and 11.

Yep. Duke missed the tourney that year.

Coach K did nothing but bitch and complain all year. Hung around for one more and let Hubert Davis escort him out.

You don't have to have a subscription to read the article. Just google Post Gazette Dior Johnson. You don't know anything "for certain" in this case. As I said, don't let facts get in the way of your know it all narrative. Reading is fundamental.

Your best guess needed:

1. Who filed the Title IX complaint?

2. When was it filed?

Revisionist history.

You can be counted on to make claims based 100% hindsight, but when that hindsight isn't based on facts, you look even sillier than usual.

Johnson was a case study on how NOT to handle a player that has been accused/convicted of a crime by a college administration!

Whew, we really blew that one!
