Is it just me or does this defense likely help us in future recruiting?
I’m not talking Class of 2020. That class is basically wrapped up. Though it’s already an improvement over past classes
What I mean is Narduzzi could always sell kids on what he did at MSU and scheme, but now he’s got actual results here for the first time.
What kid wouldn’t want to be Twyman, or Camp(in the opener)? Seeing Jones and Alexandre as the ends getting pressures after Weaver went down. That has to really open eyes for pass rushers
Seeing Hamlin and Ford excel at S, with Dane, Mathis, and Pinnock all playing high level at corner and being pro prospects
Finally getting to see what we can do with a talented linebacker, a kid like Johnson the UF transfer.
The scheme looks fun to play in and put pressure on the QB and lock down receivers. We’re putting out some pros on this year’s team in the future to join the guys we’ve already sent(AD, Whitehead, K.Williams, R.Lewis, E.Price). We’re showing we’re willing to rotate kids in and play young players.
Even offensively, we’re throwing more than ever, spreading out and using tempo. Letting playmakers like Mack and Ffrench do their thing, getting tight ends involved despite not being overly talented there, turning walkon linemen into future pros.
Maybe it’s just me, but man am I looking forward to what the 2021 defensive recruiting class looks like
