one of the signs any program in the major sports is in trouble is attendance.the game Tues left a sour taste in many fans mouths.i meet a couple guys from Johnstown at every game to talk about my old hometown and they are thinking of giving up their tickets next year.two hour drive ,bad weather, hassles from wife ect. I reminded them that those weren, the issues in the past.the program has leveled off to where a majority of d-1 programs are, not quite good enough to dance with the big boys but still very respectable.Any further drop could be bad for people involved.Apathy will get you quicker than almost anything.

I gave up my tickets a few years ago so that I would not miss any of my son's high school basketball games. At first, I missed going to the games, but now it does not affect me. The 120 mile round trip drive to watch a hoops game was a big factor.

TV is a bigger factor. The crowd on Tuesday was OK....but quiet after the early debacle. I've missed more OOC games this year than any in the past 30+ years. Lots of obligations.....and better TV options.
There's no question that Pitt hoops has lost some luster. I'm hopeful it can shine again.

I gave up my tickets a couple of years ago and the first year or two followed it as addictively as when I attended games. Now, I will watch games when it suits my time. I may still check on a score but don't have the drive.

I did watch most of the BC game just because there had been quite a new buzz about the team and wanted to do my own eye test. My own eye test still told me that this team is not of the same caliber as the teams in the past.

So, I don't know if they are improving or still stagnant. We have a soft early schedule and did well. Now we are entering the difficult portion and its still a wait and see for me.

The honeymoon is over Meadville. It's called fan fatigue. And it's normal.

For a decade the Pete was hopping because fans felt the program was on the verge of becoming special; final four special. Sitting at the elite table was only a matter of time and made it so easy to endure the crappy OOC, the re seating plan, style of play, or whatever else pisses people off these days. It was intoxicating.

That was then. We are currently in a rut, the hoops version of groundhog day. I think more than a few people are coming to the realization that maybe Jamie reached his peak, Who knows, but things that didn't matter as much now do.

I've gone from a pair of seats to sharing a pair. It works beautifully because I don't have to endure the full slate of crap OOC games. That was always pet peeve of mine. It is painfully clear the number of season ticket holders dropped 2k. Drop another 2-3k and it will have more impact that anything mentioned on this board.

Been to all but 1 game and the upper level has not been full all year. I thought that with the start of the ACC schedule that fans would increase, not the case at all, many, many empty seats.
