Alright guys and girls, which player would you want on our team next season? Here's the thing, even Ski who loves Sam Young gotta think about this one right? Kemba Walker in his last season for UConn led with almost 24 points a game and led the Huskies to the National Championship.

Now forget that he is a star in the NBA, I'm talking just about their season in college. This is a real tough one for me. Sam did it all and was a great and fun player to watch. But man having Kemba next season would be huge too.

I'm torn. But honestly I am going with Kemba by a hair. He obv took his game to the next level as a junior, that's why he skipped his senior year to play in the NBA. He was also obv a great leader, taking his squad through the BET and NCAA's to win the title. That's why I pick him but it's pretty close. I am actually leaning back and forth on this one. Sam was great too and would be a valuable addition.

Okay I go with Kemba by a nose. And we only get them for 1 season. Don't pick Kemba because he might come back for his senior year. Nope just 1 season, next season.

@PittPoker this is your hardest poll yet. I'm very very torn. As much as I love Sam and as much as I think he's probably the better fit for the team, I gotta go Kemba. Hard to turn down a guy who led his team to a NC.
Agreed - he essentially carried UConn on his back to the title. He is also a 4 time NBA All-Star. Sam is one of my all-time favorites, but what Kemba did his Jr. year was just a notch above just about anyone.

Ski convinced me. Plus, basketball is a guard's game now.

I hate picking Kemba. I've pretty much declared that I'd pick Sam in any poll whatsoever here. But man. Kemba pretty much single handedly took UCONN to a BE and NC tourney title. That's impossible to overlook.

If you remember Pitt handled UConn easily in their first matchup that yr . It was KW and a bunch of freshman against an awfully good Pitt team , but as those players developed during the year their team keep improving and Kemba was an unstoppable stud . Gotta go with the stud with the ring .

Thought it was a tough one. Clearly Sam's position is a bigger need but I went with Kemba.

One of the top college players of the last 15 years or so. 23.5 points a game, 5.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2 steals, final four most outstanding player, and that GD buzzer beater against us.

Led the nation in minutes played, win shares, box score +/-, and had a PER of 30.

Kemba is a college basketball legend that strapped a lesser team to his back and won a championship. All due respect to Sam, this is a very easy choice.

You have to pick Kemba.

Indeed.

Walker led his team on an 11-0 run to end the season, scoring 24.63 PPG in that time, and he led his team in scoring in all 11 games.

More importantly, he put to shame Bob Smizik's insane theory that teams were better off not winning any conference tournament games because it made them too tired for the NCAA tournament. (yes ... that was his actual argument).

That argument from Smizik never held up to actual facts.

Every so often Smizik needed to remind everyone that he wasn't nearly as smart as he liked to think that he was.

In case they had forgotten in the 30 minutes since he last said something dumb.
