One would believe/hope that for the fall that at least one of the three incoming true frosh TEs (Reeves, Carrigan, Sear) will show enough in August that he will make the 2-deep ahead of a walk-on listed on the 2-deep this spring. Reeves has the size and is a 4-star recruit so he seems the most likely.

Of course, as Narduzzi said, they can always adjust the offense to put more emphasis on the wide-outs and bring in a tackle for short yardage running plays when they need the extra blocker.

I suppose they could also bring in that second tackle for blocking on a pass play and slide O'Neill over to TE; given his pass catching ability and unusually speed and quickness for a tackle.

Bottom line--It probably isn't going to be as big a hole in the offense as the current depth chart suggests.

I'd like to hope it wouldn't be too demanding to bring in Reeves in a role where he would be involved in some pass packages as a second TE, maybe some short passing packages in some sort of jumbo package.. I know these 3 need to learn how to block at this level and that's something you cant exactly rush but with that said, Reeves seems the part as far as a Receiver, so asking him to partake in a package or two as a second TE, don't think that's too imposing of a task for a true freshman..

Do not sleep on DeAndre Schfino in Spring ball as he could really add needed depth but also could be effective next year in a supporting role. The kid is no slouch athlete as he could have played ball at lesser D1 AA schools. He comes from a very athletic family who will compete regardless of the comp.
Just sayin' that DeAndre is yet another of the quality preferred Walk-on's that Coach Duzz & Staff have worked on developing.
If nothing else he could allow us to ride the wave until Reeves is able to get up to speed. But I would not be surprised in the least if once Schfino get's his foot in the door that he will find a way to stay a active member of Special teams & other contributions from the TE position.

H2 PITT !!!
