Meanwhile, this Oregon State/OK State game is one of the sloppier tournament games I recall seeing. Oregon State was up big but their careless play is keeping the Cowboys in it.
I thought all year that USC was capable of making a deep run, will not claim I could say the same about Oregon St. Not that they’re horrible, but this run has literally come out of nowhere.
Lotta exciting finishes and tight games but, honestly, lotta sloppy play. No one has looked very, very good yet. Maybe that changes tomorrow?
This has turned into an exciting game. Oregon St. turning it over too much.
I still can’t get over this Oregon St team I’ve watched over the past 2 weeks, where the hell were these guys all season? I mean they lost at home to #327 Portland earlier in the year, and that Portland team is as bad as those Pomeroy rankings say they are, maybe worse.
I’m not sure why OK State went away from the press to begin with. It’s evident that the Beavers can’t break it.
Same for Tennessee. Vols had their big guy out and struggled to generate any kind of offense, but continued to play Oregon St straight up. I don't get it. OK St clearly had a quickness advantage.
If Illinois played Loyola 10 times on a neutral site, they'd win 8 of those games. If they had got past Loyola they probably would have coasted to the Final Four.
Bummer for Illinois fans, euphoria for everyone else. That's what makes March Madness so much fun.
I don't see how you could know that. Loyola is pretty good and we really don't know how good the Illini are.
If you don't know enough to know that Illinois is pretty good you certainly don't know enough to know that Loyola is pretty good.
Take a look at the players on each team.
Then their respective regular season bodies of work.
That would be a good place to start such an evaluation.
Illinois is better than Loyola. My point is you don't know they would win 8 of 10. I know they didn't win the one that counted.

You’re also right that you only have to have one bad night, and your opponent a good one, to have an embarrassing showing in the Big Dance.
