I don't think anyone on this board has any illusion that the final decision on who to hire as a coach would be driven by the fans. We're not directly involved in the process so we lack visibility into the background checks, interviews, etc. That said, you would think that a new AD would have the common sense to float a trial balloon on social media to gauge fan reaction. It would have taken about 5 minutes to realize that Stallings was absolutely a bad choice. While fans don't make these decisions, they definitely impact the program in a big way going forward. This was an opportunity to solidify the new administration. Instead, we managed to make Steve Pederson look smart. Either Barnes is completely unaware of the impact of social media or he simply doesn't give a crap.
