Transfer in at 157

Wouldn't expect too much from him but like greekpanther mentioned bringing in competition is all that matters. Talk about a big recruiting class though, 14 wrestlers!!! A few big time talents and if just one or two of the lesser known guys pan out than watch out.

I think having lots of bodies in the wrestling room is a good thing, but having lots of bodies who are good wrestlers is even more important. Most of these lesser known new guys are at least PIAA place winners. At Heavyweight, for example, where we almost always have had no depth, there will be 4 guys, Richert and 3 incoming frosh: a PIAA champion, a PIAA runnerup and a PIAA place winner who was a 4 year starter in HS.

To me, this is one of the most positive things Gavin has done. I would guess two of those incoming Heavyweights could have gotten partial scholarships to wrestle at Lock Haven or Clarion or Stroudsburg, for example. That he could get them to enroll at Pitt. almost certainly with no athletic aid, is a big boost.
