I mean obviously he could pick his school: Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, UNC, etc.
If Capel wants to win, he has to hire his handler. That's the way this is played. Look at USC and OK St. If not for Mitchell, for someone else.

Texas prints money and they pour it over everything they do. But for reasons that usually accompany the spending sprees of spoiled kids, the results are not there.
To my knowledge he wasn’t brought in.
The resources Texas has are just absurd. We’ll see if they made the right hire on the Football side but they hit a grand slam with Beard. People snicker when I allude to the power shift in CBB and how the ACC is losing ground, but Texas hiring Beard while the ACC’s two biggest brands are filling their coaching spots with under the radar internal candidates speaks to that changing landscape.
No doubt, Texas has always been a power landing spot even for sports like ping pong and cornhole. More coaches would opt for Austin then not.
I get your point but those two biggest brands were “under the radar” once themselves. HC at Army and an assistant were not top shelf hires. For example, Smart was a $pla$h hire for UT. So far, nuthin.
Texas is talent rich in every big time college sport, but that has not translated into success to match talent. Plus, Texas is going to be wooed more and more by the Pacific (fill in number) and the Big Ten/Twenty.
Sooner or later they will move.
